Cozy apartment of 50 square meters in the historic Pigna. Located in an ancient house of the early '900, renovated in 2011, bright, quiet, cozy and comfortable for 4 people (4 adults or 2 adults and two children).
Arranged on one level with sea view, flight of stairs, no disabled access. It consists of: living room with dining area, sofa and armchair, television, wood stove; kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge / freezer, small appliances, kettle; 1 double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers; 1 bedroom with bunk beds (2 seats), chest of drawers and sofas; 1 bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and washing machine.
For winter is equipped with wood stove and electric heaters, ceiling fans in summer and fan shaft. The apartment is equipped with wifi.
Guests: plates, dishes, pots, tablecloths, blankets, pillows.
The city center is pedestrianized area. You can access by car for loading and unloading luggage.
Sanremo is a city with a mild and pleasant climate. Flower City, with the famous parade of floral floats in March; city of song festival in February and stage of the Tour of Italy cycling in May.
Civitas Sancti Romuli: founded around the year one thousand Old Sanremo is called Pigna for its crammed streets and medieval fortifications just like the scales of a pine cone. La Pigna starts from the fourteenth-century St. Stephen's Gate (south), a stone arch in the Gothic style, which is a kind of connection between the modern and the ancient, and the Gate of St. Joseph to the north, just below the house. Hence covered walkways, courtyards, arches, fountains and staircases will make you lose between stories of pirates and ancient portals.
In 3 minutes walking distance to the famous Sanremo market that takes place on Tuesdays and Saturdays and from Monday to Saturday covered market of fish, fruit and vegetables with the products of local farmers (ask Mirella, small stalls on the right side) ; in 5 minutes the Ariston Theatre, home of the Sanremo Festival, and the shopping center through the most characteristic areas of the old town with restaurants, shops and hidden places; in 10 minutes the beaches free or equipped and bike path, the Casino and the Russian Church.
La Pigna is a pedestrian area but for loading / unloading luggage, you can drive to the church of St. Joseph (20 meters from the house), the Market Square along Via Martyrs and turning right onto Via Rocca.
Outdoor Parking fee (from 9 to 19 hours) in the market (except on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, days of open-air market). Covered parking in the same area for day and night with a weekly ticket. From the square take Pescio alley and you will be immediately on the way Palma.
Arriving by car: A10 exit Sanremo for those coming from France, Arma di Taggia exit for those arriving from Genoa; signposted city center, Market Square will reach easily to your destination. For those arriving by train: the station exit you reach Corso Cavallotti, go right; at the roundabout take the tree-lined Corso Garibaldi to Piazza Colombo where you continue on Via Palazzo (pedestrian) until the arc of Piazza Cassini, you are in Pigna and there, to your left you will find a map of the old city that will help you reach Via Palma through the riots in front of you and then left. Total road distance about a kilometer.
