The apartment was partially renovated in March 2017; air conditioning is delivered through split units in each bedroom and the living room; floors are covered in marble in the living area and in hardwood in the bedrooms. The kitchen features a balcony, overlooking an interior courtyard, just like other windows of the apartment. This feature makes the apartment extremely quiet, while the absence of steps makes this property suitable also for guests with reduced mobility.
The foyer leads to the living room and a hallway from which bedrooms are accessed. The living area is equipped with a large decorated wooden table that can easily accommodate up to 6 people. It is furnished with two roomy wooden cupboards and entertainment set accommodating a 24' flat screen TV. Area:The apartment is located squarely in the center of the old medieval town, a short walk from Bologna’s main square: Piazza Maggiore is the heart of Bologna and surrounded by the city’s most important buildings. Palazzo Podestà is the oldest of them; it dates back to the year 1200 and is flanked by the Arengo Tower. In front of Palazzo dei Banchi is Palazzo d'Accursio, a fourteenth-century architectural complex of the fourteenth century, now serving as Bologna’s administrative seat. The last side of the square is embellished by the Basilica of San Petronio, a specimen of Italian Gothic architecture, which began at the end of the fourteenth century and was never completed. Palazzo Banchi marks the entrance to the city’s most famous portico, the Pavaglione, connecting Piazza Maggiore to the Archiginnasio, the first seat of the University of Bologna, the oldest in the world. Today, the seat of the University is less than a 5-minute walk from the apartment, on Via Zamboni, where the Municipal Theatre is located, an artistic institution famous for its rich Opera season calendar.
Among the city’s most interesting monuments surrounding the apartment, the best known are St. Stephen's Square (with the magnificent seven churches built top of each other and the wonderful Corte Isolani), the Asinelli Tower, which leans suggestively towering over the Garisenda Tower, and the Pavaglione portico, which lends one of its sides to form the so called Quadrilateral of the Emilia region’s food and wine tradition -- a true maze of pedestrian streets where visitors can find the region’s best delicacies (cold meats, fresh pasta, wine) and fresh local products (meat, fish, vegetables), In short, a real sanctuary for gourmands. Finally, shoppers can choose to go wild along the crowded street Independence, in the shops from big names in Galleria Cavour or in the chic boutiques of Via Farini and Via d'Azeglio. We point out a well-equipped gym with wellness center and a supermarket right below the apartment.
