Located on a Chianti hill, Montespertoli is a small town, just 20 km from Florence and 30 km from San Gimignano. On one side of the hill there is the valley of the Pesa river (Val di Pesa), on the other the valley of Elsa river (Val d’Elsa). The surroundings of the countryside are just like picture postcards, gentle hills covered with vineyards , olive trees and gravel roads outlined by rows of cypress trees.
Montespertoli is located on the “Via Volterrana” which connects to Via Francigena, near Certaldo. Due to its position the small town is connected to all the most important cities of Tuscany, even though it’s down to its proximity to Florence that it has developed over the years.
Along the Via Volterrana towards Montespertoli, it is possible to admire the castle of Montegufoni (property of the Acciaioli family); in Montespertoli, just a few hundred metres from the villa, it is possible to admire the castle of Sonnino (which belonged to the Machiavelli family).Get the full listing »
