The neighborhood and the surrounding area:
Easily accessible from the airport of Catania, Casetta Azzurra is located in a well served area a few minutes from 2 coffee bars, a pub-pizzeria, a take away, a newsagent, a bakery, 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, a pastry shop etc.).
In ten minutes you can walk to some of the most interesting places of Siracusa as the Neapolis Archaeological Park, (which includes treasures such as the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysius, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise) , the Paolo Orsi museum and the Catacombs and the Church of San Giovanni.
The island of Ortigia is less than three kilometers away (about twenty minutes walk): you can easily reach it by bike, but if you decide to go by car, being the island mostly pedestrian area, I will recommend a parking nearby.
Alternatively, near the house you will find a convenient bus (bus no. 12. Runs every hour from 7. 20 to 20. 20) that will take you to the station, from where you can easily walk to Ortigia or take a shuttle bus.
If you love the beaches, in 15/20 minutes by car you can reach all the main beach areas of the city.
Syracuse is the ideal starting point for day trips to Noto (30min), Marzamemi (40min.), And, at about 1h, 1h and 30min. Ragusa, Modica, Scicli. Inland I suggest visiting Palazzolo (40min) and Caltagirone (90 min). In the north direction Catania (45 min) and Taormina (90 min).
