Location and special feature:
Fine white sand and crystal clear sea – the seaside resort of San Lorenzo is well-known for its clean, turquoise colored water and need not shun comparison with the dream beaches of the Caribbean. Ask the inhabitants of Sicily’s southeast to name the most beautiful beach in the surrounding area and they will vote unanimously for San Lorenzo.
Casa Pippo, named for its friendly owner, is one of four holiday apartments and located on the upper floor of the house. The latter is located only 150 m from the sea with a shallow access into the water across rocks and only 250 m from the sandy beach.
The sea is omnipresent– not only the terrace opens upon a terrific view, the eat-in kitchen and bedroom, too, offer a view of the sea, which, depending on the weather, shimmers in different shades of blue. If you stay at Casa Pippo, which is located somewhat apart, you are not in the midst of the hustle and bustle at San Lorenzo during the summer months of July and August. Thus you are able to enjoy relaxing holidays in the southeast of Sicily.
The holiday apartment:
The stylish live-and-eat-in kitchen includes oven, gas stove, refrigerator with freezer compartment, TV and sofa bed as well as air conditioning with heating system.
In the bedroom, there is not only a double bed but also an additional bed for one person. The bathroom has modern tiling and is equipped with shower cabin, hair dryer, WC and bidet.
The partly roofed terrace is furnished with dining furniture, comfortable basketwork chairs, sun shade and sunbeds. The outdoor shower, a washing machine and barbecue are for shared use.
Casa Pippo includes also free Wi-Fi.
There is a reserved parking space for your car in front of the house.
The sea is only 150 m, the sandy beach with Lido 250 m off. Restaurants and shops are found at Marzamemi, 2 km off. During off-peak season, shopping facilities and restaurants are found at Pachino, 6 km off.
Tips for excursions:
Those who love nature should stop at the nature reserve of Oasi Vendicari, which borders on the holiday resort of San Lorenzo. While hiking there, you get to know Sicily’s multifaceted vegetation and, in spring and autumn, you can watch the migratory birds which stop there for a rest.
Visit the picturesque fishing village of Marzamemi with its small cafes, nice restaurants and good-humored inhabitants.
It is only a 20-minute drive to Noto, fascinating due to its grand Baroque buildings and numerous churches. The highlight of Noto surely is the cathedral of San Nicolò. The sight of this majestic building will take your breath away.Get the full listing »
