Gressoney-La-Trinité is at the foot of Monte Rosa, in the Lys Valley (also known as Gressoney Valley), crossed by the Lys creek.
From this side, you can admire several peaks of Monte Rosa, such as the Eastern Lyskamm (4,527 meters, the highest point of the valley), the Western Lyskamm (4,481 meters), the Castor (4,226 meters) and the Vincent Pyramid (4,215 meters).
In winter Gressoney-La-Trinité is an important ski area of the Valle d’Aosta region, part of the Monterosa Ski resort. The area is well connected to Champoluc in the Ayas valley and to Alagna Valsesia in the Sesia valley.
Another important sight in the area is the Ethnographic Museum and the Walser Ecomuseum (with a rural house attached).
One of the most famous food products of the area, the ‘Toma di Gressoney’ (a delicious local cheese), is under the protection of Slow Food, the important Italian organization presiding over typical food and wine products.
In the nearby town of Gressoney la Trinité, only minutes away by car, you find many supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
