No. 8 The Woodlands is a superb three bedroom, four-star holiday home located in the grounds of the MulrannyÂ Park Hotel in County Mayo. Â The Woodlands is a small enclave of ten holiday homes set in a horse-shoe shape amongst a wild landscaped green area, with a woodland backdrop & beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Â
The houses are accessed by road around the back of the hotel, which ensures it is private and safe with no through traffic.Â Just 2 minutes walk from the renowned Great Western Greenway, Irelandâ€™s longest cycle route, provides guests with ease of access to this fantastic facility.
Guests can fully utilise the facilities of the four star Mulranny Park Hotel which offers highly rated dining options with superb views of Clew Bay and supervised children's club during high season.Â The leisure centre is also open to guests, however guests of No. 8 The Woodlands must pay for usage.Â
THE WOODLANDS 8
This is a hugely popular property; each room is bright and spacious; it is contemporarily decorated; contains a relaxing lounger and also a small selection of dvdâ€™s, toys and books for all.Â And on occasion, the local sheep and even wild mountain goats may be seen grazing outside.
No. 8 The WoodlandsÂ is approximately 1,100 sq ft with an open plan living and dining area (including gas fire), and a separate well equipped kitchen area which is well stocked with cooking equipment and accessories.Â There is a timber deck to the front with outdoor table & benches.
There are three bedrooms.Â On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with super king bed and one spacious twin bedroom.Â Â The large bathroom is wheelchair accessible with an open shower area.Â Please note there is no bath in this house.Â Â
On the first floor, there is a very bright king-sized bedroom with fantastic panorama of the area, the woodlands and a sea view.Â Well appointed ensuite bathroom.Â
The charge for electricity & heating is at the rate of â‚¬8 per day for the months of June, July and August and â‚¬9 per day for September through to May, which must be paid directly to Dream Ireland at the time of booking.
Mulranny Park Hotel:
The Mulranny Park Hotel is a lovely 4* hotel perched on a unique site overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Opened originally in 1897 the hotel is situated on a 42 acre woodland estate and has retained much of its original character and charm, which is combined with the very best in contemporary comfort and style.
Dining â€“ Fine dining and quality cuisine is at the heart of the Mulranny Park Hotel. The Nephin Restaurant offers the very best in fresh local produce skillfully prepared by expert chefs, in a superb dining room whose ambience is illuminated by the dramatic views through its bay windows. Bookings are recommended for the Nephin Restaurant, especially during peak holiday seasons.
In the Waterfront Bar, guests can enjoy hearty soups, fresh homemade dishes, delicious salads, catch of the day and tasty specials. Food served daily from 12 noon to 9.00pm with superb views overlooking Clew Bay.Â

Please be aware that although No 8 The Woodlands is located on the grounds of the Hotel, guests of No 8 MUST PAY for the use of the hotelÂ leisure facilities on a pay as you go basis and can avail of discounted family and multi-use passes which can be purchased directly from the Leisure Centre reception.Â Facilities include 20m pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and outdoor hot tub. Great Western Greenway Trail:
The World Class Great Western Greenway (Westport - Newport - Mallaranny - Achill) is a 42 kmÂ free cycling and walking facility which primarily follows the line of the famous Newport / Mulranny Railway, which closed in 1937.Â Â Bring your own bikes or alternatively rental is available on the site which allows you to do as much or as little of the route as you wish with their five bases along the route and free return bus shuttle to Mulranny.Â For further details go to www.greenway.ie

Mulranny, Irelands Best Small Tourism Town and a European Destination of Excellence is a hidden treasure of spectacular landscapes and outdoor adventures, perched on the Wild Atlantic Way along the rugged coast of Co. Mayo in Western Ireland.
Wild Atlantic Way:
Mulranny is a superb base from which you can explore the Wild Atlantic Way: the picturesque town of Westport (30km) and Achill Island (10km) are both within easy reach.Â
The Atlantic Drive:
The Atlantic Drive is without doubt an awe inspiring and dramatic experience. Starting from Mulranny, this drive takes you along a very rugged coast, dramatic rough seas and cliffs.Â Youâ€™ll be surrounded only by sheep and rough terrain as you make your way along the windy road which provides spectacular views of Clew Bay with its reputed 365 islands. Mulranny has itâ€™s own Blue Flag beach which has a lifeguard on duty during the summer season and there are additional spectacular beaches just a short drive away in Achill Island.Â Known for itâ€™s five Blue Flag beaches with a range of outdoor activities and adventures for all.Â Be sure to check out surfing at Keel beach. kayaking and the recently renovated children's playground at Keel.Â

Ballycroy National Park:
Ballycroy National Park was established in November 1998 and is Irelandâ€™s sixth National Park.Â It comprises of 11,000 hectares of Atlantic blanket bog and mountainous terrain, covering a vast uninhabited and unspoilt wilderness dominated by the Nephin Beg mountain range.Â The visitor centre is located on the N59 (Mulranny to Newport road) and is just 14km away.Â The visitor centre offers an interpretive centre, nature ponds and trails and of course, tea rooms with fantastic viewing points.Â Â
