No dogs allowed in our cottage, we allow 1 dog stay in the Old Schoolhouse.
Our self catering holiday cottage is in an area of unique and stunning coastal scenery. The coastline is dotted by islands, numerous sheltered bays and golden sandy beaches.
The mile long Tra Bhan/ White Strand beach has won Blue Flag Status for many years. This beach is located in an Natural Heritage area. The sheltered coves of Tra na Bhad/ Boat Strand are easily accessible and beside the historic Oilean na Marbh.
Carrickfinn Holiday Cottage's location enables our visitors to absorb the music, culture and heritage of West Donegal Gaeltacht area.
It is home to world famous musicians e.g Enya, Maire Brennan and Clannad, Altan and Daniel O Donnell
The peace and quiet attracts many specimen of wildlife. Lovers of nature will be pleased to know that part of the Carrickfinn peninsula has been designated a Special Area of Conservation. Wild life is in abundance and the area is noted for the presence of rare plant species.
A supermarket, pubs, hotel and restuarants in Annagry village are a 5 minute drive.
The nearby town of Dungloe, with the Daniel O Donnell visitor centre, has been made famous by the singer and the song â€œMary from Dungloeâ€ and for the same named annual summer festival.
Carrickfinn is an ideal base for touring Donegal. West Donegal Gaeltacht is a breath taking area of mountains and lake filled valleys. Mt. Errigal is visible from the cottage. Donegalâ€™s main attractions include Dunlewey Lakeside Centre , Dunlewey Church in the Poisoned Glen, Glenveagh National Park with its famous Glenveagh Castle & Gardens, Sliabh League, Fanad Lighthouse, Horn Head, Tory Aranmore & Gola islands.
Donegal Regional Airport is a 5 minute drive from the cottage.
There is no noise pollution.
There are twice daily return flights to Dublin with 'Aer Lingus Regional.
Loganair operate return flights from Carrickfinn to Glasgow Airport.
