Welcome to The Boulders, overlooking peaceful Northern Lake George in the quiet hamlet of Hague.
The spectacular panoramic lake views are of one of the most beautiful spots on Lake George - the Waltonian Islands and Island Harbor. If this is your first visit to Lake George, we guarantee you will be captivated by its beauty. For returning visitors, we look forward to sharing our mutual love of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains with you.
The Boulders is a vintage Lake George and Adirondack gem that was not well kept for years. We’ve owned the home for the last 5 years and have been bringing it back to life. We just completed a kitchen remodel (2019) and replaced the roof. We renovated the main bathroom ini 2018, adding a large tile shower and barn wood skylight that brings in an abundance of natural light. We also added a 1/2 bath on the 3rd floor. The house has lots of unique charm throughout. The craftsmanship and detail of the hardware floors, pocket glass doors, a stone fireplace and the original porch swing will bring you back in time. This house was built in the early 1900’s, and we draw still water from the lake. While the lake water is clear and clean and runs through a filter, we still recommend drinking bottled water. We use the home frequently throughout the summer, so only a few weeks/wknds are available.
The Boulders is directly across Lakeshore Drive from Lake George, and is perched on top of bedrock. It overlooks the lake and features a covered porch with breathtaking views of Lake George, 'The Queen of American Lakes.'
The house has direct lake access via a staircase to a dock area. There is great swimming right from the dock, a floating swim platform, and kayaks and SUP available for guest use. The property and lawn adjacent to the staircase is private property and not for use of our guests.
There is a nearby marina if you wish to rent a power boat. Rogers Rock State Park is a short drive away, and has a beautiful beach and picnic area.
The first floor features a large covered porch and great room/dining room. The pocket glass doors that separate them open up completely and create a large indoor/outdoor space, with beautiful lake views. The great room has a large couch and is equipped with TV, Bose sound bar, and Xbox. There is WIFI and a hutch full of board games, playing cards, puzzles, and crafts. The dining table expands for large meals and doubles as a perfect game table if you can keep everyone off their devices! :;
Three bedrooms, the kitchen and 1 full and a 1/2 bath are located on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is great for kids — 2 bedrooms and a half bath. The back bedroom has 2 doubles and the front ‘bunk room’ has 4 twins.
The back of the house is on the edge of a woodland area with hiking trails. There is additional parking there as well.
The house is approximately 1 mile from the center of Hague, with the Hague Public Beach, Boat Launch, New Hague Market, Fishing Pier, Post Office and Firehouse Restaurant/Bar.
Ticonderoga is ten miles north, with additional shopping, banks, gas stations, and our favorite...The Wind Chill, serving soft ice cream. The ferry to Vermont is located in Ticonderoga.
To the south is Bolton Landing, with additional restaurants, shopping, etc. Lake George Village is approx. 45 minutes away, and is the spot for vacation entertainment such as Great Escape Theme Park, Water Slide World, etc.
