– Villa Gremos is situated on a pedestrian alley, at the edge of the traditional village of Koskinou. Overlooking a cliff, the villa offers a perfect place for relaxation especially during sunsets which can be enjoyed from both its courtyard and its high rise veranda.
– Along the narrow alleys of the villa's neighborhood are colorful hoses featuring traditional facets which are very popular subjects of photography. Without doubt though, the most rewarding experience while walking around Koskinou village is meeting the villagers themselves who always seem to have the time to welcome visitors for a chat or for a cup of greek coffee, while they are eager to answer questions about anything. These are people that do not occupy themselves with new technologies and social media and are not interested in how branded one looks or how much one's car at home might be worth. These are people that live to live and are proud to share their philosophy with the visitors.
Within 2-3 minutes walking distance from the villa you can find:
4 local eating places (Yannis Taverna, Tasos Taverna, Mandala, Kotsakis souvlaki - all favorites in their own right), 3 coffee/pastry places (all located in the main square of the village of Koskinou), a mini market (with daily fresh vegetable/fruits and baked bread), a butcher (offering an excellent quality of local produce), and a traditional tailor.
Several big supermarkets are located within 5-10 minutes drive from Koskinou village.

Description of Villa Gremos (sleeps 8 + 1 + 1 persons)
This beautifully colored villa is situated at the edge of the cliff of Koskinou village. "Gremos" in Greek means "Cliff", hence the name of the villa.
With its cozy but functional sala (living room), its open air courtyard, its high rise veranda offering a view of the cliff, its two separate bedrooms that can easily be converted (on demand) into working/office rooms, Villa Gremos offers numerous possibilities for either private or communal activities.
Enjoying a friendly chat while sitting on the steps of the main entrance of the villa with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in hand has been the favorite pass time for many of our guests.
The villa features antique furniture and handcrafted wooden structures. The traditional lime painting methods applied throughout the villa have created a healthy environment.
Main sala: A tiled roofed, cozy and very functional room with a 5.5 meters (18ft) high ceiling. Its ground level area (39m² / 420ft²) features a sitting area (which includes a 220cm (87 inch) long wooden handcrafted couch which can accommodate one sleeper), a dining area, a fire place (very popular with winter guests), a kitchen and a bathroom.
A wooden staircase that separates the sitting area with the kitchen leads to the upper part of the main sala (20m² / 215ft²) where two traditional wooden carved "pataros" (handcrafted sleeping platforms) and a bathroom are located. Each one of the pataros accommodates two sleepers and is separated with the rest of the sala by curtains for privacy.
Courtyard: (about 16m² / 172ft²) Cozy and private open space for relaxing or dining, with a sunset view overlooking the cliff.
The courtyard offers access to the main sala, to Bedroom 3, and to Bathroom 3. It features a cemented staircase that leads to the high rise veranda and in turn to Bedroom 4.
High Rise Veranda: (about 10m² / 107ft²) A wooden structure accessed by a cemented staircase which is located in the courtyard. Very popular with guests (especially during sunsets) for relaxing and taking-in the view of the cliff.
Tge veranda offers access to Bedroom 4.
Bedrooms 1&2: Two traditional wooden carved "pataros" (handcrafted sleeping platforms) are located at the opposite ends of the upper part of the main sala. Each one of those pataros accommodates two sleepers and is separated with the rest of the sala by curtains for privacy.
EACH ONE OF BEDROOMS 1&2 CONSISTS OF ONE "PATAROS" (SPEEPING PLATFORM) AND IS NOT A SEPARATE ROOM. THOSE TWO SLEEPING PLATFORMS ARE LOCATED IN THE UPPER PART OF THE MAIN SALA OF THE VILA, the room where traditionally the sleeping places were constructed.
Bedroom 3: Located at ground level and accessed from the courtyard, it features a slightly risen wooden carved "pataros" (handcrafted sleeping platform) that accommodates two sleepers. This pataros can (on demand) be converted into a spacious writing desk.
Bedroom 4: Accessed from the high rise veranda, it features a slightly risen wooden carved "pataros" (handcrafted sleeping platform) that accommodates two sleepers, and a 160cm (63inch) long wooden handcrafted couch which can accommodate one more sleeper. The pataros can (on demand) be converted into a spacious writing desk.
Kitchen: Fully equipped open kitchen located within the main sala. Its window offers a tranquil view of the cliff.
Bathroom 1: Colorful bathroom with basin, shower, WC, washing machine. Hot water. Located within the main sala.
Bathroom 2: Colorful bathroom with basin, spacious shower, WC. Hot water. Located in the upper floor of the main sala.
Bathroom 3: Extra small bathroom. Small basin, shower, WC. Accessed from the courtyard.
Internet: Wi-Fi. Password given on the 1st encounter with the guests.
TV: Flat screen TV.
Air Condition: As there is often a natural breeze that runs through the villa, air conditions are not featured so that guests can experience an authentically traditional environment. Nevertheless, fans are available in the case that they are required by the guests.
Heating in winter: Fireplace and electric heater.
Parking: Private parking space for one car is available 40 meters from the villa.
Earlier check in and later check out can be arranged subject to availability.
Meeting point with the arriving guests:
Guests will be met in front of JASMINE CAFE at the main square of Koskinou village, which is a mere two minutes walking distance from the villa. The villa may also be reached by car.
Greek cuisine lesson day. Starts with getting the ingredients while touring the open AIR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE market (“LAIKI”) of the city of Rhodes. Return to the villa and participate in preparing popular greek dishes. Getting accustomed with the spices of the Greek cuisine and of course enjoy eating what was cooked. Free house wine provided.
There are many beaches only about 5-10 minutes drive from the square of Koskinou. Just to name three of the most popular ones:
- Kalithea Springs (renovated thermal bathing springs with candle light dining available during weekends),
- Tasos Beach (consisting of a combination of a sand beach and rock formations with an excellent choice of drinks/food available at its restaurant),
DJ; popular with the younger crowd).
There are four restaurants within a three minute walking distance from each one of our villas (Villa Castro, Villa Mouria, Villa Gremos):
- Yannis Taverna,
- Tasos Taverna (NOT to be confused with Tasos Beach mentioned above ! ! ! ),
- Mandala (with live music), and
- Kotsakis Souvlaki.
They all serve Greek food and they all put their tables in the street alleys (where cars are not allowed to pass). BTW, it is not uncommon for customers to drive from far away just to eat at those places.
There are also three places serving breakfast/coffee/snacks which are located in the main square of Koskinou village (Jasmine Cafe is the latest addition), a mere three minute walking distance from any of our villas.
Even though there are so many eating spots near our villas the houses themselves are very quiet. Villa Castro is located at the dead end of an alley; Villa Mouria is located on a village road that is hardly ever used by cars; Villa Gremos is located on a pedestrian alley.
We can arrange for either breakfast and/or dinner to be served in any of our villas (Villa Castro, Villa Mouria, Villa Gremos) at a price of 5-12 euro per person depending on the guests' choice (greek, continental, english, asian).
We can arrange for airport transfer at a total cost of 50 euro for up to four persons.
There is a bus stop/terminal in the square of the village of Koskinou.
Radio taxis are readily available. There is also a taxi office located in the square of the village of Koskinou.
There are many car rental offices in the island of Rhodes. We can assist you in renting a car at competitive rates with free pick up and return of the car at the airport.
