Conte Marino Villas is a group of three villas (Alivia Objectnr. 2364128/ Mandarina Objectnr. 2364312 / Orangia Objectnr. 2364337) each featuring 3bedrooms/2bathrooms and sleep up to 6 persons (all 3 villas together up to 18 persons) and can be booked all together for large groups or families.
They are open all year round and are located in the small rural village of Kontomari close to Maleme, a quiet historical seaside village in western Crete where the locals have a reputation for their friendliness and Cretan hospitality.
Each villa hideaway is privately encompassed and overlooks groves of olives and citrus orchards with panoramic hills and the distinctive White Mountains in the distance. They were designed by exemplary architects, the Baroudakis brothers, who had nothing but comfort, privacy and beauty in mind in the design of these villas. Modern elements have been fused with traditional Cretan architecture using a combination of wood, metal, stone, glass, marble and earth resulting in an exquisite design where the outside is incorporated into the interior. A peaceful ambience is created throughout by the natural light that floods in. Décor is chic, luxurious and contemporary with fabrics and furnishings having been hand-picked by interior designers. All this together with modern appliances and exquisite linens puts these villas forefront as the perfect private, comfortable, contemporary and luxury getaway.
The villa has two floors and a sun flooded living area and magnificent patio for soaking up the sun’s rays. The inside area covers approx 203m² and the grounds outside are about 350m². The private shimmering pool and garden space provide the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The downstairs living space is both ambient and relaxing from where you can observe the unique surroundings. Meals prepared in the high-tech kitchen can include organic produce picked fresh from the garden. Fittings and fixtures are of excellent quality and to help optimize a comfortable sleep excellent quality bed lined and Coco-mat mattresses are used throughout.
The ground floor with its high ceiling houses the spacious kitchen/living/dining area and large glass patio doors and windows that separate it from the open partly covered veranda next to garden and pool area. There is a sofa, coffee table, dining table and chairs, an amplifier with two speakers, air conditioning, 42" Sat LCD TV (Astra & Hot Bird), Wi-Fi, a wood burning stove, and wooden floors with under floor heating.
The semi-inset kitchen is open plan and is fully equipped with a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, juicer & mini chopper, Krups Dolce Gusto Espresso coffee maker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, utensils, and a ceramic hob & oven. A utility cupboard has an iron & ironing board, clothes airer, small ladder, vacuum cleaner, safe box (laptop size), cleaning tools and a first aid kit.
Two bedrooms and a bathroom are also on the ground floor and each has a small furnished patio with direct access to the pool area. One bedroom is twin bedded and the other is double bedded and each has a wardrobe, bedside cabinets with lamps, writing desk with chair, luggage stand, under floor heating, air conditioning, best cotton quality bed linen, bath towels, and bathrobes & slippers. These bedrooms share a bathroom built with locally quarried stone and featuring a hydro massage shower, hairdryer, free standing accessories and luxurious pure Cretan toiletries.
The upper floor master bedroom features a king sized bed, bedside cabinets with lamps, wardrobe, writing desk, 37" Sat TV, air conditioning and an en suite with a heated towel rail, free standing bathroom accessories, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, luxurious toiletries as well as a Jacuzzi bath that in front of a stunning marble panel that resembles olive groves. The view from the French patio windows is of the village and citrus groves with the backdrop of the White Mountains and there is a private seating area with two lounge armchairs and two small tables.
A beautiful garden with flowers, olive and orange trees adorns the outside space. The overflow pool (39 m²/depth 55cm-1.55mt) with walk-in steps has a non-slip edge and a Diamond Brilliance finish gives a ray of stunning rainbow like iridescences during different times of the day. A wooden deck extends along the side and ends of the pool. One end is furnished with sun loungers and drinks tables whilst at the villa side of the pool you can continue to enjoy outdoor summer living by al fresco dining using the BBQ (by Weber) and outdoor dining table and chairs, or relax on the comfy outdoor lounge seating. Outside also features a shower as well as parking for two cars.
