Vlatos luxury villa is a Venetian style renovated villa with private pool, hidden among century-old chestnut trees and olive trees in the mountains of western Crete... placed in the centre of Vlatos village, just 2,5 km far away from the world famous eco settlement of Milia in the municipality of Kissamos, Chania Crete and only 23km away(25 minutes drive)from world s famous Elafonisi beach , 17km away(20 minutes drive)from Palaiohora beach and 33km (35 minutes drive) from Balos Falassarna beach.
Our luxurious restored 120sq.m Venetian style villa blends modern and traditional elements, while integrating the best of local architecture. The villa, first built during the Venetian period , has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms accommodates up to nine people in two large bedroom.

The village of Vlatos was at peak of its power around the Venetian occupation and from the presence of the Holy Spirit and St. John churches one assumes that the village also existed at the end Byzantine period as well.
The village used to be private property of the famous De Minotto family, a venetian family, where they built their three-storeyed house, the Arhontika Houses, which used to host Turkish officers as well during the Turkish occupation and can be seen nowadays. This Arhontika House is considered to be one of the samples of the Venetian architecture in Crete.
Vlatos village consists of many quarters, Bertiana, Korakiana, Koutsounara, Arhontika etc which maintain the original cretan style. There are some very nice trekking paths around and in the forest of "Peace" which has been characterized as a natural park.Near by is the "Park of Peace" that was founded in 1970 by the Cultural Association of Vlatos with the cooparation of Goethe Institute and the support of the Bavarian Department of Forests.
It is an experimental park with 150 species of plants, covers an area of +-- ---- ---- sq.m. and is part of an extended area of 20 -------.---. which have been reforested.

The forest of Peace
The forest of Vlatos covers the area surrounding the village. It has been characterized as a natural park, and as an area of exceptional beauty. There are chestnut trees, platans, pine etc.
Visitors can follow a footpath through it, or hike through the forest to the top of the mountain and to Plakia.
The "Park of Peace" was founded in 1970 by the Cultural Association of Vlatos with the cooparation of Goethe Institute and the support of the Bavarian Department of Forests.
