Named after the Goddess of the Dawn, this charming stone villa enjoys a very attractive, gently elevated position along a country track, close to the island capital and just 1.5km from the pretty cove beach of Kaminia. Relaxing and welcoming, there are lovely views across rolling countryside to Vathy and the cerulean Ionian Sea to be enjoyed from the pool, garden and extensive terraces.
A very good choice for smaller families or couples alike, this property offers a welcome combination of traditional stone walls, cool tiled flooring and contemporary design. Fully air conditioned, the house has a spacious open-plan living area with a well equipped kitchen to one side, a large dining table conveniently adjacent.
Both bedrooms (a double with en suite bathroom and a twin with bathroom alongside) are sympathetically decorated in soft pastel shades and each has a pair of French doors offering private access to the pool terrace whilst inviting the pretty views inside.
Fringed by terrace and a colourful, landscaped garden of Mediterranean trees and shrubs the outside areas are an inviting environment in which to relax with your summer novel and a long, cool drink. A sunny, private swimming pool, in built barbecue and shaded eating area (positioned on a gentle rise in order to maximise the view) complete the enticing picture.
Larger families or perhaps a group of friends looking to holiday together, whilst fully retaining individual space and privacy, will be interested to know that sister properties Naias and Nereus sit above and below this property respectively. Each is within easy walking distance, completely self-contained and enjoys their own, independent private grounds.
With such a relaxed and laid back ambience, the island of Ithaca retains a simplicity and charm so often missing from today’s fast paced society. A drive of less than ten minutes brings you to Vathy (2.5km), home to all amenities as well as numerous, family-run cafes and tavernas serving snacks, iced coffee, fresh fish lunch/dinners and countless Greek specialities. Nearby Perachori (2.9km) is as well known for traditional ‘souvlaki’ as it is for amazing panoramic views. Sarakiniko Beach, one of the most attractive natural settings on the island is just 5.5km away or why not hire a little boat in Vathy harbour and explore the indented coastline northwards towards the pretty beach of Gidaki, a perfect fun-filled day out!
