Villa Maria is located in the very quiet settlement of Bies (nearby Kranidi and Porto Heli towns) in Argolida region, which is in the central and eastern part of the Peloponnese.
Argolida is a region of a rare continuous long history. One of the earliest and most important Mediterranean civilizations, the Mycenaean civilization was born and settled here and the ruins of the mythical palace of the heroes of the Homeric poems are among the most visited archaeological sites in Greece.
The short distance from Athens, less than two hours by car, makes the prefecture of Argolida one of the ideal place for alternative tourism in Peloponnese.

Other sites of archaeological interest nearby include an ancient observation tower, situated in the Flamboura area and the temple of Persephone at Kioskouria.
Kranidi is the commercial canter of the whole Ermionida area, and has many offices and shops, where the visitor can find from basic traditional craftwork to modern designer boutiques. It has all the other main amenities and in the event of an emergency, there is the 24-hour Ermionida Regional Health Centre with many English speaking doctors and dentists within the town.
Porto Heli: 17km (18min) by car
Porto Heli is a small seaside town with a fine little harbor, well protected from the wind and much favored by yachtsmen. Across the way are the ruins of the ancient city of Alieon. Whether you came by sea or not, you’ll enjoy your stroll through the streets lined with shops, restaurants and bars. Porto Heli is one of the most luxurious holiday destinations in Greece as well as the cosmopolitan hangout in the Peloponnese.
Ermioni: 7,4km (13min) by car
Ermioni is a picturesque seaside town with intense island style and traditional architecture, surrounded by pine forests. The port promenade is a relaxing place to stroll around and enjoy a meal.
The small port is connected by ferry to Piraeus and the islands of Hydra and Spetses.
