Peenemünde and the sunny island of Usedom
The district Peenemünde forms the northern part of the peninsula Usedom. The place, first mentioned in 1282 as a village center, is located on the Peene river opposite the towns of Freest and Kröslin.
Tourist attractions include the Historical Technical Information Center (HTI) and the Submarine Museum. The concerts in the turbine hall of the HTI are regularly sold out.
North and east, the municipality is bounded by the Baltic Sea, west of the Peenestrom and south of the forest. This location - three-sided water and the fourth side forest - means clean air and tranquility.
The A 20 - Wolgast motorway, the Usedombahn and the ferry service Freest - Kröslin - Peenemünde provide good transport links. The terminus of the Usedomer Bäderbahn is located about 900 meters from your apartment and is connected via the railway line Züssow-Wolgast-Ahlbeck to the Interregio Berlin Rostock.
