Our 2,200 ft home was the second homestead in Gardiner, built in 1895. It is a hand quarried rock/stick frame home, with a castle-like turret. Fully remodeled in 2015, you will experience a little piece of the old West, combined with all the amenities of a modern home. The wildlife love to come visit our front yard flower garden. We give you lots of important and useful information that our guests love. We send out emails telling what you need to bring, the best times to see Old Faithful, places to drive, animals that have been seen lately in the Lamar area, guides if you are interested. We also offer a garage at the back of house. During the busy season, it is hard to always find a place to park in Gardiner. Our guests have liked the convenience of parking in our garage. It fits a suburban or smaller vehicle WITHOUT luggage carriers on top.

We are professional wildlife photographers and videographers, who have been chronicling life in the park for the past 20 years. We created a wildlife viewing guide of the animals in Yellowstone and where you can find them. This is our gift to you, we hope you get the chance to see the many wonderful creatures of Yellowstone. Lamar is absolutely our favorite place to find many of the amazing animals listed in our guide.
Gardiner is a tiny, eclectic little town. There are cafes, a grocery store (a block away), post office, bank and a medical clinic (5 miles away). You will find numerous whitewater rafting companies (Montana Whitewater – just across the street), outfitters that offer horseback riding both in and outside of the park. Fishing guides are also numerous (Park’s Fly Shop – 2 blocks away) where you can obtain a Yellowstone National Park fishing license or MT fishing license for any streams outside the park. Montana/Wyoming fishing is nothing short of amazing. Yellowstone river is right across the street. If you arrive in July through September, visit the boiling river (2.5 miles away, inside the park) and soak in the hotpot that streams into the ice cold river, creating a hot tub like experience that you will never forget. WE have towels. We recommend for you to bring water shoes/sandals. There is no changing area at the river, change into swimming attire before you go or in the parking lot bathroom. You will need to walk down the path a bit to get to the river, so plan accordingly. Early morning or later in the day is great time to go to avoid the crowds later in the day.Get the full listing »
