La Courège is a 15 century, stone farmhouse with pool, catering for up to 6 adults/children in the ancient and tastefully furnished farmhouse. There is a living/dining room, large breakfast kitchen, two bathrooms, three toilets and three double bedrooms (one on the ground floor and two upstairs). The whole property is exclusive and private and sits in the middle of the countryside with over two and a half hectares of land/forest (11 acres) and has a commanding position overlooking the valleys of the Dordogne with stunning views; and yet it is only around 5 minutes from the 'Plus Beaux Villages' Bastide of Monpazier.
The maison has many delightful and ancient stone features where the history of the building may be absorbed. Guests have access to the gardens, the gorgeous swimming pool and extensive grounds, where there are walks laid out for clients and their families and friends to enjoy. There are a number of garden games available.
The grounds will reveal many secret places including a magical fish pond, where the sound of the waterfall and fountain can be heard from the house. There are a number of cozy places to relax, read, eat or drink. Near to the pool there is an outside dining area where you will also find a fully equipped kitchen, which enables convenient catering; including BBQ. At night the property can light up with numerous night lights (around 50) or you can just sit and enjoy the stars which fill the heavens above La Courrege.
There are ample modern, sun loungers around the enviable swimming pool. There are three satellite TV's - one in the kitchen, one in the main lounge and one in bedroom two; these all receive English TV. The TV in the salon also receives French channels. The main lounge TV has a recording facility, a surround sound system and DVD blu-ray play facility.
Outside the main bedroom is a veranda with it's own private garden and seating.
Wildlife surrounds La Courrege; red squirrels, hare, deer, jays, red kites, buzzards and hoopoes are common.
The region around La Courrege is full of interesting things to do and see. To hint at what you’ll find; there are several historic Bastide towns - all within easy driving distance. Of course, the best one, Monpazier, is on your ‘doorstep’. There is also Chateau Biron very close by, all in an area famous for gastronomic delicacies like truffles, chestnuts and mushrooms, along with the local fine wines of Bergerac. There are a number of excellent restaurants in Monpazier. Activities are many & varied and include golf, walking, riding, adventure parks and prehistoric caves, all to be found locally.
In Monpazier and all the surrounding villages, there is something to do every day and night. These include day markets like the one in our town on Thursdays and the one in the local village of Issigeac, every Sunday. Each evening, one village or another holds a night market where you can take a plate, knife, fork and a glass and enjoy the wide choice of food & wine on sale and listen to the free entertainment. There are also free concerts, light shows, horse racing, theatre, flea markets etc throughout the summer.

Numerous chateaux sit upon the hilltops like nearby Biron and, of course, we have the world heritage site of Lascaux with its Stone Age cave paintings.
