Certainly at the heart of the home is the claret red AGA, giving out a gentle warmth and on constant readiness to cook. If you want an Aga cookery lesson that can be arranged.
Downstairs as you enter from the front door we have made a ‘war wall’ displaying our collection to include the photographs of the soldiers passing outside the house. Into an open plan living area, the lounge has a fireplace with a very efficient wood burner, leading into the dining room and into the well-appointed kitchen, an Aga that keeps the house warm all year round, American fridge (ice & filtered water on tap) dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee machine, the back door leads out to the very sweet high walled garden with BBQ for outside dining along with a raised patio perfect for a gin & tonic on a summers evening whilst surveying the church tower. Watch out for the swallows - they nest in the old stone outbuilding in the garden…they’ve been known to swoop right down beside you!
There is a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and a separate loo.
On the 1st floor the most gloriously proportioned master bedroom, decorated in blue toile de Jouy so we refer to this as the blue room. A 2nd small double/ large single along with a large family bathroom room with a substantial shower, double sink unit plus a loo.
The ‘Top room’ the 2nd double bedroom with an ensuite is on the 2nd floor, self-contained with its own staircase & a super kingsize bed.
We’ve tried very hard to beautifully present the house, with restored antique furniture, hand-made curtains, even embroidered towels, along with all the things a traveller will appreciate like top-quality linen on the beds, big fluffy towels, towelling dressing gowns along with hair driers with some puff!
