Our large, sea-view apartment is located very close to the charming, Old Port (Vieux Port) of the central, downtown area of Cannes, (sometimes called 'la banane') and very conveniently close (it’s literally 5 minutes’ walk) to the Palais des Festivals.
The whole apartment has just had a total renovation and re-furnishing, with new rooms, new kitchen, new, beautiful marble flooring, a new, ensuite bedroom, new bathrooms as well as new plumbing & electricity. So the whole apartment (but not yet the immediately next-door studio) is as new. All is air-conditioned, with individual thermostats
There are 2, good-size, luxuriously finished double bedrooms, one with its large, ensuite bathroom. The second bathroom is lovely with its marble, stone and granite. The bedrooms can both be made up for you as either one king-size or 2 double beds.
It is a large, 114 sq. m. property It has a huge, (40 sq. m), south-facing terrace, furnished, and reached through the sliding, glass doors of the living room. From there and much of the the living room there is a stunning, panoramic, close view of the sea and lower Cannes – a truly amazing, view stretching from the mountains of le Californie, to the ancient hilltop church of the Old town ( Le Suquet). It’s a top-floor apartment thus there are no noisy neighbours upstairs (or next-door). The studio also has a large terrace with town and mountain views.
The sky is always a huge, beautiful, changing painting... always open views from the top, 8th, floor of the building (with lift/elevator, if course)
As well as ideal for festivals at the Palais, the property is perfectly located for tourism: for the beaches along the Croisette, (both public and paying) the classy shops of the Rue d'Antibes and, of course, for the many restaurants of all kinds of the Old Port, the Palais de Festivals, the splendid open market, Le Marché de Forville, and Le Suquet, (the Old Town): all are within 3-12 minutes’ walk.
The apartment currently has two double bedrooms (each of which can also be made as two single beds). At night from the south, sea side there are beautiful views of the yacht basin and the sea and, in the distance to the exquisitely illuminated Old Town, Le Suquet. From the north terrace and bedrooms there is a dazzling view of the Californie and Esterel hills, jewelled with lights. It is quite quiet at the top of the building on the 8th floor.
Wi-fi is included throughout, and there a many, international TV channels, DVD player and radio.
The supermarket, CARREFOUR, runs a paid parking garage which can be accessed directly from the lobby of our building. Their rate is 25€/day; 65€/week, even better rates for longer stays. Alternately, you can drive around for 5-15 minutes to find free, street parking in the area, which we usually do.
Either ourselves or our charming friend and helper in Cannes, Madame Désirée Reic, will greet you at the apartment and give you the keys. We will send you full directions, including directions from the motorway, airport and train station, as applicable to your arrival. It is important to us to, please, to specify your approximate arrival time to us in advance by telephoning or texting the person meeting you (we will provide the relevant telephone number) from the road, airport or train, when close to Cannes
