This is our delightful 1773 stone house situated on the outskirts of a peaceful village. Located in the heart of the Perigord Noir, described as 'that most sumptuous area of the Dordogne', all of the famous attractions are on your doorstep. The medieval villages of Sarlat, Beynac, Les Eyzies, Limeul, Beynac, Domme, St Cyprien are all just a short distance away. There are plenty of local activities such as canoeing, golf, swimming in the river or local lake, local markets to visit, prehistoric sites and caves to explore.
The village (very walkable) has a shop with bakery, a co-operative of local producers, tabac, small hotel with restaurant, post office, hairdresser and cave (to experience some local wines).
The property is elevated and south-facing, providing picturesque views over the Dordogne valley. You will not be sharing the house, pool or grounds with anybody else.
Central heating means the house remains cosy all year round. Ideal for autumn and winter breaks. We have also just installed a lovely new log burner for cold nights.
The accommodation consists of a spacious, lounge/dining area with original beamed ceiling and ornate stone fireplace. Satellite English language TV, CD & DVD player.
The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. filter coffee machine, toaster,, kettle and everything else you would expect to find when cooking for 6 people.
There is an ADSL high speed internet connection (bring your laptop) Free phone calls to landlines.
There are 2 large bedrooms, the main room has super-kingsized bed, and the second bedroom has a kingsized bed and a single bed with trundle (making 2 full sized 3' beds) - perfect for children or adults.
NB. The bathroom is downstairs.
If you require a set of clean linen during your stay, this can be arranged for a small cost when booking.
