You'll know you're in Florida the second you arrive at 1633 N. Victoria Park Road in the lovely and centrally located Poinsettia Heights neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale! This adorable two bed, two bath dreamy orange colored house is surrounded by beautifully manicured mature tropical landscaping along with a large heated pool (approximately 17'x30') . Inside you'll find tropical Florida colors everywhere, terrazzo floors, gorgeous furnishings and artwork and lots of conveniences and comforts. Our driveway can hold up to four cars pretty comfortably and we even have a car port for a smaller sized car.
I have to say that I love our little living room. We really wanted this house to look and feel like Florida so we selected Florida colors like corals, yellows and greens. We made some bold choices with furniture and art work that we hadn't tried before and we were relieved (and happy) when we saw it all come together. I still can't believe how lucky I was to find that beautiful painting that sits on the wall above the sofa. It takes my breath away every time I see it.
We continued our Florida color scheme into the bedrooms and bathrooms using a turquoise color called, "Tropical Pool," while bringing more greens and yellows into each room. Each bedroom houses a king-sized Serta Sunview Firm Mattress and essentially identical decor, furnishings, linens and conveniences. There are some trade offs between the bedrooms. For example, the larger room does not have its own bathroom or a walk-in closet, but it has an adorable sitting/reading area with a chair, a small table and a reading lamp. Overall there is more room and the windows are larger in this bedroom. The smaller bedroom has its own bathroom and a walk-in closet. It doesn't have room for a chair and the windows are smaller, but there are more windows so both bedrooms are equally as bright and sunny. The furniture, the Serta Sunview Firm Mattresses and the linens are identical in both rooms. Each bedroom has a chest of drawers, two night stands and lamps with electrical outlets and USB connections on them for easy cellphone and electronic device charging. Both rooms have ceiling fans, luggage stands, hampers, ample closet space with wooden hangers, air purifiers, alarm clocks, full length mirrors, plantation shutters, curtains, area rugs under the beds, art and decor. I'd say the bedrooms are very comfortable and pleasant. So if there are two couples staying together both will have a king sized Serta Sunview Firm Mattress, but one couple will have a larger bedroom with a hall bath and the other couple with have a smaller room with its own bath and a larger closet. Seems like a a fair trade off to me. Bedrooms are located in the same area of the house and share an adjoining wall. The linen closet in the hallway between the bedrooms contains hand towels, wash cloths, some supplies and a hotel safe that is secured to the shelf it is resting on. Bottom two shelves are reserved for house manager and cleaners. Bath towels and beach/pool towels are located in baskets in each bedroom. We do NOT have televisions in the bedrooms.
Our bathrooms are small, basic and they're somewhat older, but they are very bright and very clean. Both have tubs that double as showers. The amount of storage in each bathroom is about the same. Hot water is supplied by a tankless hot water heater so hot water is endless, but takes a minute or two to warm up and one of our little quirks is that you really can't take two showers at the same time, but one after the other is very easy breezy.
The kitchen and dining rooms are located in the same area. The kitchen is not large, but functional with ample storage, fully equipped and very neat and orderly. We added a banquet for bench seating in the dining area to help make that little corner a little more interesting. We're very happy with the result! It is a comfortable and colorful spot for dining!
If you'd rather eat al fresco, then you'll be excited to know that we have a beautiful covered patio with a dining table and six chairs. It honestly feels like an indoor room on the outside (especially at night if you turn on our indoor styled outdoor lamp on the console table). We couldn't believe how one outdoor lamp with a shade transformed the atmosphere of the covered patio area. I love sitting out there at night.
Between the outside covered patio and the kitchen/dining area is our favorite room in the Florida room, where we have a giant comfy sofa, lots of pillows and throws and of course our television. The Florida room is cozy, colorful and fun and surrounded with windows overlooking our tropical surroundings and our beautiful pool that we love so much! It is true that the front of our house is very pretty, but the back of the house (including the patio, the gardens, the Florida room and the pool) is very special. We couldn't believe our luck when we first saw this private, beautifully landscaped and appointed backyard. It was like the backyard of our dreams. I miss it everyday I'm not there, but I am happy to share its beauty and tranquility with all of our guests.
Also out back we have a new Weber gas grille (tools for grilling are located in the kitchen), four chaise lounge chairs, an outdoor wicker furniture set including a small sofa, coffee table and two chairs, two umbrellas with stands, two thick (blue colored) lounges for the pool and some additional poolside furniture and accessories.
The laundry is behind a door that is accessible from the outdoor patio. In addition to the washer/dryer and laundry supplies there are some other outdoor and beach related items stored in there including four turquoise colored folding beach chairs, a blue beach umbrella and a green and white cooler. Also the vacuum, the laundry basket and the ironing board are located in there. Also some cleaning supplies for the house manager and the cleaners.
I'd just ask that you treat our house and property with care and our vendors, neighbors and neighborhood with respect. This house is loved and we tried to be very detailed in how the house was appointed to ensure that guests are comfortable and happy. It is not furnished or appointed to accommodate custom needs or whimsy, but to appeal to and satisfy a broad audience. We've provided a detailed inventory list for those to review who might be interested in booking this property. Additional needs can be provided by guests or perhaps can be found at another property. We have what we have and we're good with that. Please see the rules and regulations listed on the contract or listed on this site. I'd say those that are most important to me include no parties, no loud music outside ever, no music outside after 9pm, nothing that could reasonably disturb the neighbors or neighborhood, no rearrangement of furniture or art work, no smoking inside, no pets (or pets of family/friends) and that any concerns are expressed respectfully to Roberto, to Lincoln or to Jim.Get the full listing »
