This 3BR, 2BA East Boothbay oceanfront cottage (sleeps 6) sits on its own rocky Nook next to the Sea. Floor to ceiling windows, large decks and a wood burning fireplace offer a romantic Maine retreat!
The tide comes in around and under Seanook. Come stay at this rare historic location, grandfathered uniquely close to the ocean; it’s like being on a boat except it doesn't rock. Watch weather waft across the waves and spectacular sunsets shimmer in calm. Wake up to watery sounds of splashing and the calls of seabirds. The ever-changing moods of the bay will entertain you on 3 sides year-round. Vibrant colors develop along the shore in mid-October. In winter stay toasty warm by the fire, while you watch ice floats and wildlife on the bay. If you are lucky enough to get snowfall, the sights are pristine!
The dock and float will be available from the end of June into October weather depending. It is fun to spend time here floating on the water. We now have three kayaks and a rowboat which you are welcome to borrow after signing our release.
Park up to 4 cars diagonally in the gravel parking area off the road.
This cozy cottage shows thoughtful and unique touches by the painter and woodworker owners! A polished wood counter serves as kitchen work island. From the sink watch activity on the bay in three directions. A GE profile gas range, dishwasher, and Samsung refrigerator round out the appliances. Rustic shelving, the last remaining remnant of the summer cottage, is filled with eclectic cookery and offers everything you need plainly in view.
An oval wood table can expand to seat 8. A small seating area to the right has a comfy couch, a perfect sequestered spot for curling up with a novel, or Colin Woodard’s area history, The Lobster Coast.
A full bath off the living space boasts a large step in shower and single vanity.
Open the sliding glass door to the sheltered front porch and large lower deck with picnic table just above the high tide. Guests can enjoy a Samsung flat screen TV with cable from the two sofas while wood crackles in the fireplace/stove (PLEASE NOTE: the owners will come and demonstrate its use). A small covered deck is an ideal breakfast spot, with seating for 2. Opposite is the cozy sunroom with 6 floor to ceiling windows putting sun, wildlife, and wind on the water right before you no matter the season.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king bed that can be split into 2 twins on advance request, seating area, and a gas fireplace/stove besides the water view on three sides! Outside is an upstairs deck with more of those long panoramas.
The upstairs bathroom has two sinks and shower, with a hidden W/C.
Off the hall is the second bedroom; wake up to the awe-inspiring view down the bay from this queen bed. Beyond is bedroom 3, with 2 twins which can be a king on advance request. If you open your eyes early enough, watch lobster boats leave from the head of Linekin bay and morning light creep down the opposite shore at sunrise.
Ample spaces for togetherness, yet plenty of cozy nooks for alone time add to the relaxation of your Maine vacation.
Seanook is built on its own rocky point sequestered just above the high tide near the head of Linekin Bay.
