The 1910 Murray-Whitley house is a Durham Landmark on Trinity Avenue; it is the only home of its' style in Durham featuring a Central Turret and wrap-around porch. The interior of the home has hardwood floors and historic style molding throughout. The bedrooms are well-furnished, elegant, comfortable and bright. Recently renovated a 6th bedroom with en suite bathroom (and king bed!) on the 2nd floor to make this a 6 bed, 3 bath home!
The entire house is yours to use and explore; On the first floor you'll have the bright kitchen, Butler's pantry with breakfast nook, expansive bar, formal dining room, spacious and comfortable living room with flat screen Smart tv and french doors, Queen bed in downstairs master bedroom, Queen bed in front bedroom with double Pocket Doors. There is one bathroom downstairs with access from the rear bedroom and hallway.
Upstairs you will have the historic turret with a leather chaise lounge, perfect for a nap or a good book! There is a master suite at the back of the house with a lush King bed, double vanity and subway tile shower with spa style river stone flooring. You'll have a queen sleigh bedroom with ornate decorative fireplace, a queen bedroom with lots of morning light and a quiet full bedroom. The rooms all have new, comfortable mattresses, many with vintage wooden bedframes, gel toppers or pillow top mattresses, desk and all have dressers and closets. The entire home has hardwoods throughout, levolor blinds, and many historic details.
Outside you will have the front wrap-around porch with several seating options including porch swing. In the fully fenced in private backyard there is extensive seating and eating space as well as an impeccably maintained 6 person hot tub. The driveway can easily park 4 cars, and additional parking is on street one house over.

From our driveway, it is just over half a mile to some of the best that Downtown Durham has to offer, including Cocoa Cinnamon Coffeeshop, Fullsteam brewery, Motorco music venue and bar/restaurant, The Pit barbecue and much more! You'll travel along tree lined streets past many historic homes on your way downtown. It's also an easy trip to the Saturday morning farmers market, Durham Art walks, the Carolina Theater, and many, many exceptional restaurants and unique bars.
There are many bus lines that should take you very near our house; We're very centrally located; by car, we're approximately 3 minutes from I-85 or NC-147.
