This is a fully furnished 1400 sq ft., two bedroom, two bath house with covered porch. The larger room has two twin beds, with a door leading to a small patio. It has a large closet, and a bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has one queen, with a large closet and a bathroom with a bath and hand held shower. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. Bedding and towels are provided. There is a washer and dryer available. The kitchen has all of the appliances, and is stocked with pots, pans, and dishes.
This property is not wheel chair accessible, and there is not internet. Most cell phones do have service.
There is a propane BBQ grill outside on the porch. Which wraps around two sides of the house and has a lovely table and chairs for you to sit back and listen to the birds and watch the wildlife.
A nice Gazebo sits by the first pond, with a nearby fire pit. There are two other ponds, and the property leads to the beautiful Dolores River, where you can fish for trout.
No smoking of cigarettes or marijuana inside house.
This property is only 2 miles outside the Town of Dolores, which offers a grocery store, general store, gift and antique stores, art gallery, coffee shops, two liquor stores, car wash, mechanic shop, library, post office, yoga studio, hair salon, bike shop, atv, motorcycle, snowmobile shop, atm. Dolores has eight restaurants, several serve alcohol.
The Galloping Goose museum is located in Dolores, with the Anasazi Heritage Center right outside of town. The Heritage Center should be your starting point for local Anasazi history. Most visitors spend several hours if not all day at this location. The entrance to the world famount Mesa Verde National Park is only 25 minutes away.
The San Juan National Forest surrounds us with hiking, mountain bike, ATV and horseback riding trails. We are in a great location for fishing with at least six different lakes in the area. You may obtain both hunting and fishing licenses in the Town of Dolores. Hunters you are welcome to book this house for your big hunt.
Three parks exist within the Town, along with a river walk for your enjoyment. Joe Rowell Park contains a playground. Dolores even has a new bike and hiking trail that follows the canyon overlooking McPhee Reservoir to House Creek Campground. This trail begins at the west end of town and has breath taking views. McPhee Reservoir is also located at the west end of Dolores. This body of water has wonderful canyons to explore, fish, boat, canoe, jet ski, water ski and just have a nice relaxing day on the water. Boat rentals are available from Doc's Marina. During high water on the Dolores you can enjoy a raft ride. Later in the year when the river is slower you can tube from our property down to a take out known as "The Beach".
Two dogs are allowed with an extra charge. All dogs must be kept on a leash due to wildlife in the area. Please clean up after your bed. Do not let them on the beds or couches. Never leave pet along in house, unless in crate.
We will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. The owners live only a mile away, so if you find you need something, just call.
