DEBELJAK AND SURROUNDING
Debeljak is located in Zadar County, in Sukošan municipality. It is a very small suburb with only 900 inhabitants. Perfectly located in a quiet area where nature, climate and enviroment will delight you, and yet close to major tourist places and attractions. In Debeljak there is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a one-nature sacristy, a marble altar behind which is a burial place and a marble font. In it there are wooden statues of Our Lady of Health and St. Ante Padovanski, and next to the chirch, a belltower with two bells is located. In Debeljak you can still see the prehistoric fort of Čička and the ruins of a medieval church near Račanska lokva. The nearest bigger place is Sukošan, which is a summer carnival, klapa concerts (Klapa music is a form of traditional cappella singing in Dalmatia), brudetijada (a traditional competition i preparing fish stew) and donkey Race (Memorial of the Donkey Viola). Sukošan can be a nice place to relax and have fun on the beach.
