While we have been closed for the COVID-19 Lock Down we have been busy painting the exterior of the house, gardening, adding new lights, sculpture, shade sails and door handles as well as more mid century touches! We have so enjoyed staying at the house and being able to do the upgrades! We are ready to welcome our guests!
Excited to announce that our home was featured on HGTV's House Hunters: Picky in Palm Springs! The episode is actually about the purchase of our second home in Palm Springs which is also a Vacation Rental but this house features in the scenes where we are deciding which house to buy (I am wearing a blue sweater) and shows the kitchen.
We recently upgraded of our swimming pool and surrounding deck! New PebbleTech surface, new tiling and a change from chlorine to a salt pool! A new pergola provides a perfect place to rest and relax poolside. We also added an amazing new pergola so the outdoor pool area is amazing!
This bungalow has a great floor plan. It has a large open living area with lots of space for relaxing both inside and out. There are 4 bedrooms including the master that looks out over the private swimming pool. It's a private retreat. There are 2 bathrooms. The Kitchen is brand new and modern. The swimming pool is huge (14' x 35') and has solar heating. There is a large spa for relaxing. The front garden is private and has desert-scaping and a sitting area and is a great place to watch sunset, the side yard has grass and an outdoor dining area lit with string lights and the backyard has the swimming pool and poolside deck and pergola with oversized furniture. There is no noise from traffic and there are views of the local mountains. It is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood and we have wonderful neighbors. The location is great as it's just 6 miles from the heart of Palm Springs. The style is mid-century with 1440 sq .feet of living space inside, and a lot that is 7500 sq. feet. The interior was designed by a UCLA educated Interior Architect. The swimming pool is cleaned twice a week.
The pool is usually the same temperature as the night time low air temperature. So from that you can gauge what the pool temperature is likely to be. As the weather heats up for spring and summer so does the pool. Average monthly lows range from 44 degrees in Dec/Jan to 76 degrees in Jul/Aug. So the pool is cold from Oct - April, cool in September and May and warm in June - August. We have a solar pool heater that is on for 9 hours per day heating the water all day. This increases the temperature during the day and makes it a few degrees warmer depending on how sunny and hot the day is. That is included for free.
If you wish to heat the pool to a warmer temperature then you can choose to put on the gas heater. It will take the gas heater about 12 hours to heat the pool depending in the start temperature and how warm you want it. The cost is about $25 a day to heat the pool - and about double on the first day. If you just want to heat the spa which seats up to 6 people and is what most people do in winter it only takes an hour or so to heat so a 3 hour soak costs around $5.
Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you wish to use the gas heater to heat the pool ready for your arrival. The cost for gas is a direct pass through from the gas company that measures usage by the hour in therms. We can charge that from your deposit or you can pay that separately.
Our pool guy comes every Tuesday and Friday. He has his own key and will let himself in and out of the back yard. He cleans the pool and checks the equipment. If you have any questions, ask him.
Cathedral Cove is a small area on the south side of the Hwy 111 nestled between the mountains. It is a small exclusive neighborhood that is far enough away from main roads and the airport that there is no noise at all. No street lights dispel the dark so the stars shine brightly at night. It is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are all good friends. This is a great place for an escape and relaxation. This is definitely not a party house.
We would love to speak with you about our rental property. We think the location is great. The Coachella Valley is a great place to escape from daily life. There is so much to see and do. Dining at local restaurants is wonderful. The house is located close to some of the best restaurants in the area. There is also golf, hiking, biking, shopping, and site seeing nearby. You can also take advantage of one of the many festivals that happen on an annual basis in the desert. But, if you just want to relax and unwind in your own private oasis, you have found the perfect place to do it. We have a large front and back yard that is completely private, you can not see a neighbor! There is outdoor dining available and a barbecue for your use. The pool area has ample lounge chairs so that everyone can enjoy the sun. The weather in the Coachella Valley is fantastic. There are more sunny days than most places in the country.
If this house is not exactly what you are looking for check out our other home: VRBO 1516158. It has stunning mountains views and is located on a great golf course in Palm Desert. Also seen on HGTV's House Hunters. The Episode Picky in Palm Springs that aired July 6, 2019 can be seen on YouTube.
