This charming, comfortable year-round home sits on the north shore of Deer Lake and enjoys 296 feet / 90 metres of private, south facing pristine waterfront.
Deer Lake is located in the ruggedly beautiful Haliburton Highlands, minutes from Algonquin Park. There is no marina on this lake.
Approximately one half (46%) of the land abutting Deer Lake is crown land. It is a clean, quiet canoe lake.
Star gaze at a spectacular night sky that is free of light pollution year round. Fall asleep listening to the call of loons on the lake in the summer.
This all-season home is clean, well-maintained and newly re-decorated with new furniture, freshly painted walls, new floors and new window coverings. The dishes, cutlery, pots and pans in the kitchen are new as well.
The house is solidly built with a field stone foundation and stone porch overlooking the lake. A furnace provides adjustable heat for warm and comfortable winter visits.
The half-acre grounds are treed except for a generous grassy area around the house. There are no other visible cottages or neighbours, although adjacent, year-round neighbours are close by.
As many people choose this location expressly for the seclusion, privacy and quiet afforded here we ask that you please be respectful and do not make excess noise.
• Living Room
The living room windows are nearly floor to ceiling and face east and south over the lake. Virtually all one can see is a beautiful view of the lake and the crown land on the opposite shore.
There are two new sofas arranged conversationally on either side of a generous coffee table. These are sofa beds.
There is a closet on the west wall of the living room beside the door that opens to the lake. Cleaning supplies and extra dish soap are stored inside this closet on the upper shelf. Brooms, mops, the vacuum cleaner, vacuum cleaner attachments and extra bags are kept here as well. Garbage bags are in the pantry or left for you on the kitchen table. The paddles for canoe and kayak and the life jackets are stored inside in this living room cupboard.
