Cradled by the waves, Ravenswood is the idyllic home to renew, refresh and relax. Ravenswood is located in the appropriately named Sunset Dunes, PEI's premier waterfront community. Relaxing in your adirondack chair watching the spectacular sunset lowering behind the Confederation Bridge is the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the wonderful place that is Prince Edward Island.
There are breathtaking views in all directions with approximately one mile of beachfront including red sandy beach, sandstone cliffs and rolling sand dunes. At low tide acres of sand are exposed leaving shallow tide pools that are warmed by the sun. It is a perfect spot for swimming, walking, building sand castles or searching for treasures including clams, sea glass, shells and starfish. The bird life is abundant here, including osprey, heron and bald eagle. It is a photographers dream.
This modern home has three bedrooms: one King bedroom with ensuite (air tub, enormous shower space with rain shower and jets, separate toilet room and double sinks), one queen bedroom and one twin room with extra long twins that can be converted to a King. The queen and twin share a full bathroom with shower and there is an additional powder room. The upstairs room can be used as an additional sleeping space with a motorized air bed and a pull out sleeper couch.
The custom designed kitchen with granite countertop is fully equipped with everything you could need and has a 5 burner gas cooktop, French door refrigerator with ice maker, double drawer dishwasher, microwave and Keurig coffee maker.
The back deck, with outdoor dining table, has a screened porch adjacent and is the perfect place to catch the morning sun! There is also satellite tv, DVD player, washer/dryer, barbecue, beach toys/chairs/towels, volleyball net, etc.
Location, Location, Location.......
If you are driving to PEI and cross the Confederation Bridge you will arrive in the town of Borden which is 5 minutes from Ravenswood. In Borden you can find basic grocery essentials, Captain Cooks seafood (all the fresh bounty of the waters around PEI - including lobster, mussels, clams, oysters, quahaugs, and snow crab), world famous Cows Ice Cream, liquor store, Tim Horton's and some souvenir shopping.
10 minutes in the other direction is the charming village of Victoria-by-the-Sea where there is theatre, fishing, kayaking, antiquing and restaurants.
PEI's second largest city, Summerside, is approximately 15 minutes away. In Summerside you can shop, enjoy a play, restaurants, movie theaters, take a walk on the boardwalk and enjoy all the shops on the waterfront. Ravenswood is 35 minutes from the capital of PEI, Charlottetown. The city has many things to offer: great restaurants, horse drawn carriages, plays, shopping, horse racing, art galleries and water excursions of many kinds. If you are a history buff, Charlottetown is the Birthplace of Confederation and has many museums and historical trails for your explorations. Cavendish, the home of Anne of Green Gables, is a 30 minute scenic drive from Ravenswood. If you are a golfer, there are about 25 golf courses on the island - many less than a 30 minute drive.
