Cozy cabin with easy acres to alpine and Xcountry/snow show trails”. The drive to the Lodge from either Montreal or Ottawa is in itself very pretty this time of year. PLEASE NOTE, in the winter you must break the lake ice with an axe and haul water up for the dishes, there is no indoor shower but the toilet is modern electric composter. If you book, please advise me that you are aware of these constraints.

- Another review said it best- you have everything you need and nothing you don’t. I’ll also add that this location teaches you how to slow down, and relax. If you’re considering this location you’re probably the type that loves the outdoors but hates traditional camping. Thank you Hudson for being the perfect host!
- Easy to find and get into. Perfect little place for a getaway. The lake is beautiful and the outdoor shower/soaker rub really is amazing for relaxing. It’s also beautifully kind of secluded in its wooded area just off the road. Surprisingly we didn’t need to use any bug spray at all the entire trip which was a nice surprise!
- Amazing cabin - simple and well-thought out, with special touches like the outdoor shower and the well-stocked kitchen and bbq. Amazing views, especially from the table on the deck. The water is wonderful - I haven't swum so much in years! We hope to come back
- This place was great, and Hudson was a phenomenal host. We ended up getting in to the place later in the evening than originally anticipated, but Hudson was there to make sure we found it in the dark and had even started a fire in one of the firepits. Unfortunately shortly after arriving, the power went out around the lake (no lights were visible in any direction), but Hudson made sure we had enough blankets and light in case the power didn't come back on and even went into town for us to restock the place with plenty of extra candles while we relaxed by the fire. When we woke up the next day, the power was on, and the view out the front of the cabin overlooking the lake was amazing. The cabin itself was simple and rustic with everything you need and nothing you don't. The kitchen had plenty of supplies to cook and clean and living area had plenty of boardgames and room to play on the large table. We spent an afternoon basking in the warm sun on the front porch that overlooks the lake. The area around the cabin felt quiet and secluded, but still within reach of cell service and very safe. We didn't get out to any of the trails to do any hiking, but we did stop at the Auberge for dinner one night, and it was a lovely meal that we easily could have walked to (~1km). Overall, this was a great weekend and a great place to spend time recharging our mental batteries. We will be back.
- Hudson's cottage is great! We spent three nights there and it was the perfect getaway from the city. It wasn't very hard to find and Hudson left us detailed instructions on how to find the place, what to do upon arrival, leaving, etc. He let us know where the closest grocery stores with the most selection were as well as where to pick up alcohol and firewood, locally, should we have needed it. We never met him in person but he made it clear that he was available to us via text/phone as well as his handyman if anything needed fixing. Everything was very clean! The kitchen was stocked with spices, coffee, tea, and all the pots, pans, bowls, plates, cutlery, etc. necessary to cook inside, and we got some use out of the barbecue on the balcony as well. The fridge inside is a mini fridge but there is a full fridge and freezer to use just down the steps which came in very handy. The outdoor shower was unlike anything I'd ever tried before, really neat! We built fires at night; brought our own firewood but there was also quite a bit in the surrounding woods to scavenge for when we wanted more. The neighbours, although not too far away, hardly made a peep, and though the road is right there, noise was seldom man-made and more-
