THE 10,000 FT. VIEW (actually its 7,000 ft.)
Situated on a quiet street in Whispering Forest and part way up a hill, our large 2,700 sq ft house offers great views of the mountains and ski resorts. It’s just 2 miles from Big Bear Lake, 3.7 miles from Snow Summit and 12 houses away from hiking trails and sledding areas in the National Forest. We often call it a Cabin-House because it’s up in the mountains, has high wood ceilings, wood beams, a stone fireplace backdrop and is nestled in pine and juniper trees. It’s also a fully functional house with all the amenities you have in your own home plus more. It can easily accommodate multiple families or larger groups as there are FIVE bedrooms with 10 beds and 3 bathrooms. These are REAL BEDS (2 Kings, 5 Queens and 3 Twins). The bedrooms are on the first floor and the entertainment space and kitchen are on the second floor. As one of our guests commented in their review, it's a nice separation of socialization and entertainment area verses a quiet area for sleep.
This house is an entertainer’s dream with a game room that will ensure everyone has a good time. Some of the fun provisions include a 9 foot professional size pool table, air hockey and ping pong games (all separate tables), darts, full size Shoot-to-Win basketball arcade game, Golden Tee video golf, music and music video jukebox, karaoke, a hot tub and more.
The open floor plan and layout is great for groups of people as the large kitchen and family room connect to the game room along with two decks at the front and back. With 1,400 sq ft of indoor space upstairs and over 800 sq. ft. of outside decks, this makes for around 2,200 sq. ft. of connected indoor and outdoor "entertainment space" on the second floor. The five bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor add another 1,300 sq. ft. so there is plenty of room. Our Big Bear Cabin-House is packed with a lot of ways for you to have a good time as well as being affordable for both small and large groups of people to enjoy the mountains.
I am new to Homeaway/VRBO but not new to guest rentals through other services. We have over 20 recent online reviews and all of them have been extremely positive. Below are some examples of them and if you’d like to read them all please message me and ask.

We spent our Christmas weekend in this beautiful home and it was PERFECT! The pictures on here do no justice on how big and beautiful the house is. Not to say the game room is perfect and very entertaining. Had us all singing our lungs off. Also did I mention he allowed pets! Not many people do that! My 2 dogs loved the snow! What can I say about Micheal he was the best. Before our stay he was already on top of everything making sure to let us know what to expect and how to use everything. He was always one call or text away! Giving us the best service anyone could have asked for! We weren't able to use the jacuzzi because it was snowing all night since the time we got there but we will forsure be back in summer time. We had an unforgettable Christmas in winter wonderland & in the perfect home!! Thank you Michael very much!

Michael was a wonderful host! Everyone really enjoyed their stay at his spacious house. Although it was just a weekend, everyone bonded, laughed, cooked and ate, played, and left Big Bear feeling joyous and relaxed. We were celebrating a birthday, and Michael even left us a small celebratory gift! It was a nice surprise. The bedrooms are on the first floor, and the entertainment space and kitchen are on the second floor. It's a nice separation of socialization and entertainment area vs. a quiet area for sleep. The house has all the necessities for feeling at home. All you need to do is bring some food and cook in the spacious kitchen or the BBQ grill outside. The hot tub was very relaxing at night after bruising ourselves on the slopes throughout the day! Michael is great at communicating with his guests, and has even prepared some documents that answers any questions you may have. He's also very friendly, so don't hesitate to speak with him about anything! I definitely recommend staying at this house that felt like a home.

This cabin is the full package! The kitchen has everything you could possibly imagine all the cooking tools, pots, dishes; you name it they have it! We loved the game room we practically spent our whole time in there! They have shoot to win basketball, darts, pool, ping pong, air hockey and karaoke!! The rooms were spacious and so cozy, had enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. I highly recommend renting Michael's cabin! Not only does this cabin have everything, he was the best host! Excellent communication and responds right away. He definitely makes sure his guests are happy and satisfied with everything.

The home OMG! It's beautiful, big and it's own entertainment. We had a great friendsgiving weekend, couldn't have asked for better. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you can think of. Hiking trails are nearby, and the view is breathtaking. Thank you Michael you're fantastic host and a great communicator. I highly recommend this location!
There are five bedrooms, all downstairs and a total of 11 beds. The rooms are as follows:
Bedroom 1 - One King Bed - We call it "The Bed" as it really is tall, wide and even has steps to help you up
Bedroom 2 - One King waterbed with motionless mattress, dark wood headboard and padded side rails (right out of the 80’s)
Bedroom 3 - Queen over Queen Loft Bed plus one Twin (the 2 Queen beds are sturdy enough for two adults on each)
Bedroom 4 - Queen over Queen bunk bed
Bedroom 5 - Queen bed and a roll out twin trundle bed
Note: The beige leather sofa upstairs has a pull out bed in case someone wants to sleep on it. That makes 11 beds, comfortably sleeping 16 people.
For some, the focal point of the family room is the fireplace and for others it’s the 46 inch Sony LCD TV. The fireplace is actually a cast iron fireplace insert and can be set up to heat the house up or used with a screen. The TV has a TiVo with DirecTV and a sound system with a wireless sub-woofer. There is a DVD player and a Roku Ultimate Media Player that can be used with YouTube or your NetFlix, Hulu Plus or other accounts. There are two couches in the family room, a large U-shaped beige leather sofa that includes a lounger, a recliner and pull out bed. The second is a two-seat black leather sofa. Bean bag chairs are also available for additional seating.
The game room is the centerpiece of fun in the house. It’s separated from the family room by a glass door, which we usually keep open. In the center of the room is a 9 foot professional size pool table that weighs over 1,000 lbs. The 500 watts of lights above it can light up the table, the room or both. There is a two player Shoot-to-Win Basketball arcade game that's 9 ft long, 4 feet wide, 9 ft tall and has 9 balls (that's a lot of 9's - lol). There is also a Golden Tee 2000 arcade video golf game. There are some fun adult party games like Cards Against Humanity, Exploding Kittens, Never Have I Ever, Sexxxtions, Been There Done That and 5-Second Rule.
The room has a custom made gaming console with a computer and amplifier that is used for music, music videos, karaoke, YouTube and other Internet browsing. There are two Infinity speakers and two Bose wall mount speakers. The game room has a Sony LCD TV on the wall that can mirror whatever is playing on the gaming console computer. There is a full bathroom off the game room and an outside deck.
The recently remodeled kitchen is large with over 50 sq ft. of counter space, making it a great place to prepare those hearty mountain meals. It has a stainless steel fridge with an ice-maker, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and a double sink with a garbage disposal. A pot rack with both stainless and Teflon pots and pans hangs above the kitchen bar area. The floor is wood, which is warm on your feet and makes for easy cleanup.
The kitchen cabinets include dishes, glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, martini, wine and shot glasses. There are a large variety of pots and pans, frying pans, pancake griddle, cooking utensils, mixing bowls, bake ware, hot pads, can opener, corkscrew, cooking and steak knives. There is a toaster, bender, mixer, food processor, Belgian Waffle maker, coffee pot, coffee filters and even a triple slow cooker/crock pot. A spice rack and cabinet contains both common and unique spices for your cooking needs.
There are three outside decks, two upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs back deck is the largest one at 656 sq. ft. It has a 7-person hot tub that has 34 jets, a waterfall, rotary massage jets and twin 5hp pumps. We have a spa maintenance service so you can enjoy the clean and clear mountain water under the stars. The deck has a propane gas BBQ, ping pong table and an 8-seat picnic table. The deck is partly surrounded by pine and juniper trees and has a great view of the mountains and the Bear Mountain Ski Resort. You can enjoy your morning coffee sitting just outside the kitchen on this deck.
The front deck is off the game room and extends over the driveway. It offers a great view of the valley below, the trees and tree tops, both the Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Ski Resorts and a tiny glimpse of the lake. It’s a good place to step outside for some fresh air or for smokers to go if they want to smoke (no smoking in the house please).
The downstairs deck is the smallest of the three and has stairway access to the back yard. It is a great place to keep dog bowls for a pet’s food and water or to hang out after doing their “business” if you don’t want them in the house.
The back yard is accessible from the downstairs deck by going down a flight of stairs. It is completely fenced in with a gate to the front yard.Get the full listing »
