We can offer you a clean and well-lighted 28m2 flat in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Because of Metro U3 and tramways it takes only ~13min to the center and ~7min to Schönbrunn castle & zoo. Transfer from Vienna International Airport is only 45 minutes.
Everything you need is close by - supermarkets, cash-machines, local restaurants. Fast WiFi, shampoo and clean bed linen and towels are included. We also installed burglar-proof roll down curtains for our daysleepers.
Our lovely flat is situated in a beautiful old building, which was repainted few years ago. The apartment itself was completely remodeled in 2018 and has 28m2. It is situated on the ground floor and consists of a bedroom, a bathroom and a dining room with an integrated kitchen. To protect your privacy all the windows are frosted so you have a light room but noone can look inside. Also we installed burglar proof roll down curtains for you to put down at night, they give you the opportunity to have complete darkness also during a very sunny day - perfect for sleeping in after a night of walking around.
The TV is connected to an Amazon Prime and a Netflix account, so there are thousands of movies and series available in multiple languages.
The kitchen should contain everything you need for basic cooking and eating. If you’re missing something, just tell us.
It is important for us to offer you a clean and proper bathroom. You’ll find clean towels, soap, shampoo, a hair dryer and of course multi-ply toilet paper (wrong toilet paper is a no-go ^^).
We want you to have every convenience possible upon arrival. You are completely free to choose your time of arrival, because you can let yourself in with your smartphone or we can open the door for you remotely. Once you are in the flat you’ll find a physical key for the house and for the flat. That way you’ll have 24 hour access and can freely decide when you come and go.
Interaction with guests
We are there for you, if you wish. We live in the flat on the 2nd floor, so we are never far away. We’ll answer all your questions on our close environment and on how to get somewhere. Of course you’ll get our telephone number and can call, text or message us anytime.
Other things to note
Just feel like home. Vienna is a beautiful city to discover. Time will fly by and you’ll need to come again.
Karl & Lisa’s home is located in Vienna, Wien, Austria.
Our apartment lies in a quiet neighborhood. The streets around the building are one-way-streets and there is a tempo limit of 30 km/h.
In the vicinity of the flat you’ll find supermarkets and drug stores (Billa, Merkur, Penny, BIPA, DM), a pharmacy and great bakeries (Anker, Backwerk, Felber).
You can reach excellent restaurants and green areas like Matznerpark, Auer-Welsbach-Park and of course Schönbrunn castle with its lovely garden complex by tramway or by foot.
Public transportation is well developed in Vienna. Tickets can be bought via Smartphone App (search for ‘Wiener Linien App’) or at a ticket machine. Prices are around 8 Euro for a 24 hour ticket and 17 Euro for 72 hours.
Metro | U3 Hütteldorferstraße
U3 Station Hütteldorferstraße is not even five minutes by foot away from the flat. U3 is the orange line, it is the perfect way to get to the center. In only 12 minutes you can reach the famous St. Stephens Cathedral.
But also along the way there are many reasons to get out and explore the city. The newly built pedestrian area around Mariahilferstraße invites you to go shopping (just exit at Zieglergasse oder Neubaugasse). MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the ten biggest art and culture complexes of the world. On the famous Ringstraße you’ll find the Austrian parliament, town hall, imperial palace and other exciting and impressive buildings of different ages (just exit at Volkstheater).
The U3 Line also stops at Landstraße – this is where the trains to the airport are departing. With City Airport Train (CAT) you can do the check-in at the railway station and reach the airport in only 16 minutes. There are also regular trains that take a little longer, but are much cheaper.
Tramway | line nr. 10
Tramway line nr. 10 goes directly to the former imperial summer residence of Schönbrunn Palace. The 1,441-room Baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historical monuments in the country. Behind the palace you’ll find a beautiful garden complex which contains, among other things, a maze and the oldest zoo of the world.
If you go the other direction you’ll come by many highly recommendable local restaurants, taverns and wine-makers, which have a big tradition in Vienna.
Parking in Vienna
Parking in Vienna is a bit complicated and can get very expensive, if you are not prepared. In front of the building there is almost always free parking space – but you are only allowed to park there, if you’re a resident of the district or you buy tickets (maximum 2 hours). This is true from Monday until Friday from 9:00-19:00. So if you park your car after 19:00 and leave before 9:00 the next day you’re fine.
There is a Park & Ride area which costs 3,5 Euro per day, which is only a couple of minutes away with public transportation. Also there is underground parking 50m from the apartment, but that costs about 25 Euro per day.
Saturday, Sunday and on official holidays you can just park in front of the building without hesitation. If you need to buy parking tickets for up to 2 hours you can do that with “Handy Parken” App available in the app or play store. 10 Minutes of parking are free for short term parking. If you do not have a smartphone you can buy parking tickets at tobacco stores (We’ll show you where to get them).Get the full listing »
