Adventure Bay Holiday Home

Located in: Adventure Bay
Enjoy peace and solitude with this near new two bedroom holiday home set on a private and spacious block looking through trees to Adventure Bay. Wake up to a wonderful sunrise, or relax on the deck and soak in the ambience of this special place. Or, for the romantics at heart, sit in front of our wood-fired chimenea with a glass of wine and forget about the rest of the world. It is such a convenient location, only 5 minutes walk to our amazing beaches and the Adventure Bay township.

The house is well insulated with double glazed windows and a heat pump to ensure you stay warm in winter and cool in summer. There is a large lounge
and dining nook, with a full sized kitchen, along with two good sized bedrooms with comfy queen-sized beds, and a common bathroom. A Queen size air mattress for lounge room is available on request.

For all bookings, we offer complimentary NBN Satellite internet with WIFI.

We provide a 50" flatscreen Smart TV (Lounge Room) with a 26" TV (Master Bedroom). Both have Smart DVD players, with access to internet streaming programs, such as Netflix, You Tube, SBS on Demand, ABC iVIEW etc.

DVDs, books, games and some toys are supplied, or for those wanting a little more activity, there is Totem Tennis and a basketball hoop available for outside.

There is space outside for up to 4 cars; or room for your boat if you wanted to bring that with you and launch from the beach or local boat ramp.

A large covered deck with comfy swivel chairs at the front of the house allows you to enjoy the views, with a convenient gas barbeque for outdoor living, together with a wood-fired chiminea for those lazy afternoons kicking back with a nice bottle of red.

A large fold-down table and picnic chairs are stored inside and available if you prefer to eat outside on the deck.

There is a relaxed ambience and plenty of space to move, with all the modern conveniences you come to expect. Bed linen, towels, crockery/cutlery, tea/coffee are all provided.

Mobile phone reception inside the house is a little marginal with Telstra - better outside, however if you are with Optus, you will enjoy great 4G reception for phone and data.

Finally, if you like your fishing, we have available on request some basic rods/reels/tackle for beach, rock, creek or jetty fishing. In the summer, people catch Flathead, Australian Salmon and Calamari Squid. A few elusive bream can also be found in Captain Cook Creek. Bait and any extra tackle you require are available from the General Store.

Adventure Bay has a well-stocked General Store/Post Office for all your grocery supplies, EFTPOS, newspapers, fishing gear and bait - and they make a great cappucino to go.

The Penguin Cafe (currently closed) when open, provides nice snacks and light meals.

The Bowls Club (near the General Store) usually provide meals on Friday nights and bar facilities.

10 minutes drive down the road to Allonnah is the Bruny Hotel with bar and really nice pub meals, or instead, 15 minutes drive takes you to the lovely Cloudy Bay Winery and Restaurant. Try their Pinot Noir with a Lamb & Kangaroo Burger. Very nice!

Or if you have a sweet tooth, just down the road 50 metres away is the Berry Farm. They do amazing berry desserts and coffees (open usually over the warmer months).

Pennicott Wilderness Journeys offer adventure eco-cruises daily from the Adventure Bay jetty. Showcasing the rugged wilderness of South Bruny Island and a colony of fur seals. Great fun and a real must-do! Contact the booking office in Adventure Bay as it's really popular in the summer time.

And for the history buffs, there is a unique museum near the boat ramp which showcases some of the early history. Captain Cook and Captain Bligh were some of the early visitors to Adventure Bay.

Or if you just want to walk or swim on our wonderful beaches, there is a track in front of the house which leads to Two Tree Point Beach. This is pristine and many times you are the only ones on it. The views and the sheer beauty of this island make it so special. You will definitely want to return again.

Adventure Bay is a small community of residents and 'shackies'. It is a safe neighbourhood with a relaxed and laid-back feel. It is the perfect spot for a chilled out weekend, or a base to do a spot of fishing in the bay. Crayfish, salmon, flathead and squid are commonly caught here. Safe swimming spots abound in this area for summer activities. In the cooler months, it is generally quieter with fewer visitors, however many people find this an even better time to spend some quiet time on vacation.

Getting to Adventure Bay is by ferry from Kettering. Once you arrive on the Island, it is a 30 minute drive to get to Adventure Bay. Once there, it is easy to get around on foot or by car.
