Charming updated and spacious home is a short stroll to East Atlanta Village (EAV) which is the center of it all! A little hideaway oasis in the middle of a vibrant, diverse and fun part of town! East Atlantic Village is an electric and vibrant yet very laid back atmosphere, with access to restaurants, coffee shops, and live music venues with easy access from the Airport.
It is perfect for business, and pleasure visits. It can accommodate couples or a family.
This is an ideal place if you don’t need or want to commute in the traffic. I have used the local bus and Marta and can be in a downtown office in an easy 20 minutes. The point is, you can avoid renting a car if you don’t drive. Lyft and Uber are available.
East Atlanta is a historic neighborhood just east of Grant Park and less than 5 miles from downtown Atlanta. Within walking distance are a neighborhood coffee shop, bars, gym, and yoga studio, library and post office. Access to the Atlanta Beltline is a 5-minute bike ride or 10-minute jog. You could be at the Atlanta Zoo, Braves Stadium or Piedmont Park, CNN Center, Civil rights museum, within 15-20 minutes by bike or car. We’re close enough to walk home after a night out in the village visiting The Earl (Live music & food. Hosting local & national acts), or the Midway Pub. We are also close to the restaurants, and nightlife of Midtown
Our Hideaway home has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is a short stroll to EAV.
Fully renovated 1921 bungalow with lots of original character... This craftsman home has original heart pine floors, 10-foot ceilings, two fireplaces (for looks only), 5-panel doors and even the trim redone in original style. Every room has been taken down to the studs.
The kitchen is light, large with an island and farm sink that opens into the dining room. On old farm table can seat 4-6, although I think you’ll find that meals are nicer on the porch. Or, out back.
The master bedroom has a brand new, queen spring-less mattress, hotel-quality linens, an armoire and a large en-suite bathroom appointed with black marble counter, travertine floors, shower with bench, good lighting and a large mirror.
The second bedroom also has a queen bed, hotel-quality linens, dresser. The second bathroom (shown) is also a full bathroom, but the treat is the re-glazed claw foot tub This bathroom is at the back of the house.
Laundry is tucked away back here, and there's a clothesline for anything you'd like to hang dry or air out. Your sheets will likely have been line-dried.
Also a small fire pit out back. The back yard is fenced but not gated.
We regularly take advantage of nearby parks and tennis courts! Hence there's a TV with Netflix and basic channels, but no paid cable.
This is a great place to be when the village or surrounding neighborhoods are in festival season. i.e., Little Five, Candler Park Festival, Va Highlands Festival, Inman Park Festival, EABF, etc. If you're active, The East Atlanta Strut (5K) runs it's route by here, and tri'ers/cyclists - the Twilight Criterion does laps around the village just 3 blocks away. Grant Park pool opens Memorial Day thru Labor Day; 50 yds, with 3 lanes open for lap swimmers from May-August. There are two YMCA's w/ in a few miles, and I just found out seniors with 'Silver Sneakers' can work out free at Village Fitness.
Kitchen & other practicals- immersion blender, blender, mini Cuisinart- Iron / ironing board / hairdryer / wine opener available- Pool/beach towels and old linens are available over laundry, just ask me to pull them out for where you're heading (picnic?)
