This property has been "EcoCleaned"!
As we always have, my Sweet Mount Royal House is professionally cleaned thoroughly and thoughtfully after each stay by our wonderful cleaning partners at "EcoClean of Asheville". On your beds you will find clean and sanitized linens and towels packaged in bags and freshly laundered by EcoClean. You will be the only one handling them. (Yes, that does mean you will need to make your own bed, but we feel it's a welcome precaution.) Melissa and her team are VRHP Certified - VR Housekeeping Professionals and use only the best green disinfecting products. EcoClean provides our amazing luxury spa-quality linens and towels created by "Comphy". Check them both out here...
Additionally, here's a note from EcoClean about what they are doing to protect you during your stay at our Sweet Mount Royal House...

Yes, come to Asheville and stay in this beautiful and unique newly renovated mountain house perched on 2 1/2 wooded acres near the top of a quiet mountain but still near everything Asheville. "The Sweet Mount Royal House" is named for it’s location on top of Mount Royal. It’s nestled in a hollow in a quiet private park-like neighborhood with beautiful long mountain views overlooking the valley to the South. Off the beaten path, yet near to everything – the city of Asheville, the airport, Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, Biltmore Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Bent Creek hiking and mountain biking, Zen Tubing, the Outlets, and a multitude of wonderful restaurants and shopping.
Welcome Gift ~
We love to offer you a Welcome Gift for staying at our Mount Royal House - a bottle of Biltmore wine. Just let us know if you prefer red or white.
The Rooms ~
Want to know about the rooms? This sweet 4 bedroom / 2.5 bath house is newly remodeled with 2 new HVAC systems. The bedrooms have all new carpet, trim, blinds, paint and furniture – well, some antique furniture, but "new" to the house. The beds all have plush mattress toppers for extra comfort and all new quilts, pillows and linens. Each room has a bedside table or two, bedside lamps, ceiling fans with lights, luggage racks, closet with hangers, and plenty of dressers if you'd like to unpack.
You’ll love this room with it’s beautiful plush king bed, ensuite half-bath, and new french doors opening to a small private deck with lush views. Throw open the doors to let in mountain breezes and listen to the birdsong as you wake.
The Golden Room
A wildflower theme with a queen bed, side tables from Sonoma, and a large dresser.
The Grey Room
A refinished chalk-painted gray dresser and bedside table and new full-sized bed. The walls are decorated with unique artwork and the stained-glass lamp was brought from an Arts and Crafts bungalow in New York.
The Lower Level Queen Suite
A new large 4th bedroom with a beautiful plush queen bed, it's own full bathroom, sofa with coffee table, closet, second sitting area, and access to the laundry room all on the lower level. It's accessible from the interior oak staircase, or the private french door entrance off the main deck with beautiful long mountain views. It even has it's own HVAC system for added comfort.
NOTE: If you don't need the Queen Suite space, but would like to book the main area of the house, just let me know. I will deduct $50/night from your room rate and reduce the cleaning fee by $30. It's your option. Nobody else may book this space during your stay.
Spacious with a large table to seat up to 8. It has a dishwasher, coffee stand, mountain views, and a window over the sink looks onto a den where fox pups can be seen playing in the springtime.
The living room
A cozy space with fireplace, comfy new sofa with 2 built-in recliners, 2 oversized chairs, a large-screen smart tv, WiFi, and long mountain views. From the "birds-eye view" of the bay window you can often see hawks circling outside or watch the lights from the valley below twinkle at night.
THINGS TO DO ~
In the morning, throw open the french doors to let the morning sunshine help you shake off your sleep. Grab a mug of rich Honduran coffee and settle on the screened porch to listen to the mountain awaken with birdsong and rustling leaves as breezes reach into the hollow.
Spend your days taking in the nearby sites – Tour the Biltmore Estate, hike the Bent Creek trails, ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, go tubing on the Green River, zip-lining with Navitat, catch a fun LaZoom tour of the city, or visit any of the many local breweries.
Prefer to explore near the house? Take a leisurely walk in the private Royal Pines neighborhood all while enjoying the beautiful long mountain views. You can also explore one of the two private neighborhood parks with hiking trails, "Rosscraggon Woods" just to the west of the house or "Collier Cove" to the east. (Remember, you are on a mountainside!)
In the evening, head down the mountain for dinner at one of the many wonderful nearby restaurants in the South Asheville area… Brixx’s Wood Fired Pizza, Hickory Tavern, Luella’s Barbecue, Pomodoro’s, Wild Wings, and Tupelo Honey to name just a few. Go right up the road into Biltmore Village for shops and other wonderful restaurants – Wellbred Bakery and the Corner Kitchen.
There, you’re also at the entrance of the Biltmore Estate. Continue a bit further to go right into the city. Catch the Friday night drum circle, a multitude of fabulous restaurants, colorful buskers entertaining on every corner, unique local shopping, and breweries, breweries, and more breweries!
Prefer to stay in? Then grab a bag of marshmallows, a few chocolate bars, a sleeve of graham crackers and a bottle of wine, and head to the beautiful covered sitting area and fire pit. Kick back on the comfy furniture and laugh with friends while you roast marshmallows, turn on the soft strings of edison lights if it gets too dark for your game of charades.
Need a bit more evening adventure? Head to the fire pit at the end of the gravel path off the screened porch. Solar lights show the way. Step onto the path from the screened porch and just a few hundred feet over you’ll come to a large clearing with a iron fire pit and comfortable Adirondack chairs. Make yourself s’mores while watching the views of the distant mountains fade into the night and the lights of the world below begin to twinkle.
