I wanted to outline the reasons to experience a week at our place, but it was going to be too voluminous. So let me be brief enough to hold your attention and interest (hopefully) about the extraordinary amount of things to do and experience in our town and area.
I am sincerely convinced if you come for one week, you will come for repeat visits without further encouragement.
Please review the pictures with respect to the accommodations. The furnishings are new and the facility is updated to being essentially new as well.
Extra’s include a top of the line hot tub, fire pit, soaking tub, pool table, shuffleboard table, dart board, poker room, outside grill, swing, rocking chairs and a large measure of relaxing seclusion with extraordinary views from two levels (three counting the upstairs bedroom) – all new and all with exceptional privacy while yet being in Abingdon close to an extraordinary number of attractions from cultural experiences to outdoor excursions.
Also, as an added interest after morning coffee on the porch with a view, outside the side door is a (private to you and us) one half-mile trail through the woods on our property offering an exhilarating morning wake-up walk opportunity where wildlife may well be spotted along with our friendly Yellow Lab who tries to keep track with early morning investigative smells of what activities might have transpired during the night in his secluded forest.
Further to that, let me name just a few highlights. We are in close proximity to the Virginia Creeper trail where shuttle rides for hiking or biking can be arranged over the 34-mile rails to trails trek with 47 wooden tussles crossing rivers and streams in the most beautiful mountain setting you can imagine (ten minutes away at the start where still sets the last locomotive to run the railroad line).
The infamous Barter Theater is likewise at that distance where world famous plays are showing in two theaters. The William King Museum of Art, Virginia’s only nationally accredited museum west of Roanoke is also downtown (five minutes’ drive).
Rather than go on with naming individual attractions, let me just summarize that the Town of Abingdon is a Virginia Historic Landmark with 20 square blocks of historic designation comprising cultural attractions, unique shops and fine restaurants. The arts are a big deal in our town and history abounds.
Also, with our personal memberships in all the local clubs, as my guest, it can possibly be arranged for you to play the Olde Farm Golf Club, The Virginian Golf Club or Glenrochie Country Club and/or schedule relaxing and invigorating massages at the Martha Washington Spa – some of those membership clubs being too exclusive for guests to experience without accompaniment and sponsorship (all five to ten minutes away).
The Olde farm and the Virginian are world class country clubs and the Martha Washington is by name and by reputation historic and luxurious.
Further to that, Bristol is 15 minutes by car, which is historically and currently famous for its music including the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, and it is famously the home of the fastest half mile in racing, NASCAR’s Bristol Motor Speedway, among other interests and accolades it holds.
And, I should maybe point out that in addition to the unique small shops in Abingdon and Bristol for specialty shopping, a new Pinnacle Mall is close by which has an exceptional number of all new stores including Bass Pro Shop and numerous restaurants of course -- and the latest in big screen movie experience with reclining seats no less (should you like to experience it rather than the two other movie theaters close by).
I contend there is something for everyone here, whether it be all at the same place at once or each on their own at the same time.
I will leave you with one last acknowledgement. Our rental price and our minimum stay requirement are purposely higher than you will find elsewhere. That is because our facility and surroundings are exceptional, we think, and others that have stayed have assured us of that as well. We are proud and protective of it, and we only want folks to use the property that will have appreciation for it and therefore take care of it during their stay. I am convinced that you will find it to have been worth more than the rent you paid (in large part because it has been so protected). And, I am betting you will wish to come back again and again once you experience the facility and all the surrounding things to do and see.
You will find that one week is an insufficient amount of time to do the many things that will peak your interest. And, you will find the comfort and fun of relaxing at the house overwhelmingly addicting. We only want happy visitors and we fully expect that you will be just that.Get the full listing »
