I am a mailman in Woodstock NY and I currently have around 30 of my artworks hanging at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.


I was an early member of a group of young artists in the seventies and eighties, who felt an urge to redefine artmaking in the wake of conceptualism. We labored in obscurity in NYC during the 70s and exploded into the mainstream in the 80s. I effectively left the art scene to pursue other interests and did not have a high profile art career like many of my friends, including Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, David Salle, Sherrie Levine, Matt Mullican, James Welling and Robert Longo. Fortunately for me, Douglas Eklund, curator of the show, decided to focus on the period 1974-1984, when I was an active participant. This major exhibition examines the genesis of a turning point in recent art history, whose influence can be seen everywhere. THE PICTURES GENERATION 1974-1984 opened in late April and runs through August 2, 2009 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I'm very grateful for this belated recognition. I wear many hats and make most of my current income with my part-time job carrying the mail for my fellow Woodstockers.
