We'll start from the Schutt Rd parking area and take the Escarpment Trail. This trail has almost too many viewpoints to count, but the trail description mentions six. The escarpment is the drop-off into the Kaaterskill Clove, which has been formed by the Kaaterskill Creek. At times the Escarpment Trail gets somewhat close to the drop-off, so this is not a hike for people or pets

The main attraction of this hike is the spectacular views from Giant Ledge,
