I admit it. When I moved here from Boston five years ago, I assumed that every day in San Diego would be a 70-75 degree day with clear blue skies, a light breeze and low humidity. Well, I was wrong, sort of. Everything in life is relative, of course, and weather conditions and where you live and have lived certainly applies in this case. San Diego had a cool, gloomy winter and early Spring this year. I don't care where you live. Seeing grey skies and temps below normal (notice I didn't say "cold", because 58 degrees isn't)day after day reallt wear on your brain. So even here in paradise, dsys like we have had the last week or so, those picture perfect ones where there are just a few wispy clouds, perfect sunshine and a light, cooling breeze, are not to be missed. Everyone needs to take a break from inside activities (work or otherwise) to get and enjoy it. Yeaterday I took a long jog down the Embarcadero in the Marina District San Diego and enjoyed seeing different acivities happening all around me. First, Ruooco Park on Harbor bt Seaport Village is really taking shape. Trees have been planted and workers are moving feverishly to complete the project. Nearby, the Embarcadero Visionary Plan Phase I is taking shape along Harbor Drive as areas are being fenced in to create a greenway for tourists and residents. Have you checked out the new addition to the Maritime Museum on Harbor Drive just past the Cancer Survivors' Park? It's called San Salvador Village and when completed will feature a full size actual replica of the San Salvador ship Juan Cabrillo actually sailed while discovering San Diego. It's a great addition to the wonderful museum just a couple of miles up the road.
