The Marin Humane Society is a charitable organization in Marin County providing refuge, rehabilitation, and support services to more than ten thousand dogs, cats, other domestic animals and wildlife every year. We are an open-door shelter - no animal is turned away, regardless of health or disposition.

In addition to our role as a non-profit animal shelter, we are responsible for upholding county and municipal animal services ordinances through a Joint Powers Agreement contract with the County of Marin. Residents can count on the support of our officers 24/7 in responding to emergency calls, as well as processing complaints and handling calls for general assistance.

Marin Humane Society is a local, independent organization and does not receive operating funds from national organizations. Donations to the Marin Humane Society help support our organization in a variety of community programs and services.
