A Greater Town - A Geocentric, Self-publishing, Multimedia
Marketing and Broadcasting Website, with a Communications, Networking
and Connectivity Page for Every Town

A Greater Town – A Home Page for Every Town™ is a massive social media marketing site with focus on art, culture, community, business and real estate.

A Greater Town is a geocentric, self-publishing, multimedia marketing and broadcasting event, with a communications, networking and connectivity platform for 30,000 concentrically linked town, county and state pages.

The site is live in the US, and in preparation for launch in several other countries.

The site is free, the graphic capabilities are beautiful, you can upload mp3 music and voice-overs, it's local and global at the same time, meaning you post locally but be seen regionally / nationally / globally within your field.

The premise of the site is that within a town lies a multi-layered universe, and all those universes can be connected to form one huge complex which essentially replicates a town.

But today, everything is so excessively global we sometimes lose sight of that which is truly local. A Greater Town was born in the attempt to reconcile the two contrasting realities, to bring global back to local.

A Greater Town is like a talking magazine which allows for interplay among the fields of art, community, commerce and real estate. After all, they are all connected in one form or another.

A Greater Town could loosely be described as “where plumbing meets art” - enabling the generation of a virtual local-to-global town square, with its wide variety of offerings, from low end to high.

A Greater Town is also a communications vehicle for towns and cities, with the purpose of stimulating commerce and connectivity, in which small businesses, artists, community organizers, non-profits, and others that comprise the life of a town can post their materials directly, in the same space as local data fed from national partners.

For instance, a small "mom and pop" eatery can post their diner in the same space as larger establishments given us by our partner, Restaurant.com.

Town home pages will serve for browsing local businesses and events as well as for concentrating local news, streaming TV and radio broadcasting, weather, hyper-local deep links to partner sites, useful contacts, business networking, message and bulletin boards, coupons, contests, etc.

A Greater Town also serves as a dynamic posting mechanism in which pages exist independently as mini-websites or springboards out to partner source sites, filed by category and location, with each town at center of the global grid. Categories and locations expand and interconnect to form a greater entity, hence the name.

Real estate and small business marketing will be presented within a social media, community oriented context.

A Greater Town is quickly evolving into a Google magnet, and at this works principally to enable search engine empowered self-publishing and broadcasting. It is also increasingly being scraped and distributed across directories as Yahoo, LiveStrong, and numerous local real estate aggregators.

A number of original social and business networking functions will be added within the greater town construct, which will animate the site in a unique way, and transform into destination.

These will include professional and social connections and networking, personalized versions of town pages - "My Greater Town," business card exchanges, product and search alerts, rss feeds for local content, location-based voice chat and messaging.

Although complex, the user interface will be streamlined to present the various options in a clean and simple manner.

A Greater Town code can be white labeled and licensed to local and regional newspaper and magazine publishers, municipalities, special focus groups, chambers of commerce and web producers, to build out specialized communities which feed back into the main site, like hyper-local satellites to the mothership.

Besides our success with Google the business development we have completed will enrich and fully round out the site:

Organization of site:

All posts, regardless of category or location, appear on the global page, with the most recent at top as default,
and are filtered down to respective country, state, county and town pages.

From the town page, the user can focus on strictly local posts:

The geographic circle can be enlarged, keeping the subject town as center:

Feeds - Besides enabling individual users and marketing companies to post their materials directly, we also facilitate re-publishing of bulk feeds from corporate partners. Pages are designed to reflect the brand of the source site, and act as springboards from A Greater Town out to them. Essentially, we can double our partners' footprints on the web, as well as help drive traffic and heighten their visibility with thousands of custom-tailored SEO-promoting back-links. Examples:
