This week we will be hiking in the Honua'ula Forest Reserve above Kona in cooler elevations.
Take Hwy 190 to Kaloko Rd to end of Makahi Rd - paved road all the way to the trailhead. It is about 8 miles from downtown Kona.
The loop hike will be 2 - 4 miles long and we will be at an elevation of approx 4,000’. There will be minimal elevation gain, mostly in the first 1/2
